Couldn't the PC version of the previous games be played as a FPS?

If I remember correctly, in Battlefront 1 it was 1st & 3rd person. Never played Battlefront 2.

Edit: But if it's first person only, then that's a bit disappointing. Although, I will still wait to see gameplay.

I hope you can also play in third person. It's how I played Battlefront.

I think in 2 you could switch between FPS and TPS on the fly, that's the way it should be.

I thought they already confirmed third person will be in the game. I think we'll be able to switch between the two.

I just wish the game had a better publisher. I give it about a 30% chance of being any good.

It's also going to be over-expensive on origin, have micro-transactions, pointless progression system to promote micro-transactions and 100 piece of overpriced DLC.

You could even play BF2 in first person on the PSP! That's how I played it.

That's fine, although a third person camera option would be more loyal to the game's roots... Hope the game itself is good. What's really important is that it sets itself apart from the Battlefield series.

I used to play Battlefront 1 and 2 in first person, do i'm ok with it.

Jumping on the CoD bandwagon to make Battlefront as generic as possible with Star Wars costumes.

@pelvist: Probably the reason why the next battlefield game won't follow a more military route nor will it be a futuristic sequel to 2142.

You could play as TPS or FPS. BF2 had certain classes that were TP only (i.e. the Jedi or other heroes).

Personally, unless they drastically alter the formula (i.e. turn it from a Battlefield clone into a Call of Duty clone) then I'll be interested in playing it. Especially if it includes content from the new universe being built for the new movies.

Battlefront 1 & 2 were Battlefield Star Wars. Their entire formula was ripped straight out of Battlefield.

Good, I hope it plays like a true FPS then, because it's been around 10 years since a great Star Wars one came out.

If they deliver a SP campaign on par with Republic Commando, I'd be all over it in seconds.

Well they confirmed it will have 3rd person pretty early on. This is just a bad rumor used to generate some clicks.

I hope they don't include Jedi this time around, that really ruined the fun. Jedis and heroes were just OP. I prefered Battlefront 1 where everybody was just a solider. I prefer a Star Wars universe where the Jedi are not the focus.

Even were it a Battlefield game with Star Wars skin, I'd be interested.

I think EA would be dumb to show off any footage of Battlefront until BF:H is released. Next E3, possibly.

Or at the very least play an equal part to other, non-force using characters (i.e. Knights of the Old Republic).
