I don't think it's 1-to-1 replication.
Notice it says the actions "players are thinking of." I think they're basically suggesting that they think they have a scheme that will correctly guess what motion you wanted, but you don't have to do the full motion (such as raising the remote high or low or do long slashes).
wow that is gonna suck hard.
combos just went flying out th window. Unrealistic, exhausting, random arm waving ftl.

Has anyone ever told you are a toll?

So how can we expect the Remote to be used? "By swinging the Wii Remote as players please, in-game characters will perform the exact sword actions that players are thinking of,"....
So is this a bunch of bull or is Namco gonna have the first 1-1 motion sword game on the Wii?GraveRIP
NO
It says it will perform the exact sword action players are thinking of (doesn't mean it will read your thoughts by the way). Not mirror the exactmotions they perform. It most likely means the actions will be intuitive and the motions you perform will feel close to the on-screen actions that the player performs, but it does not mean it will map 1:1.
So if I'm thinking of doing a 1080 spin attack and slightly move my Wiimote to the left...
Wow this is starting to sound like the greatest game of all time! It reads your mind!

Probably meaning accurate gesture movments, rather than 1:1.kittykatz5k
That would be my guess to, though it's possible there could be a limited one to one motion in the game. I mean RE4 showed a little of it... when you aim Leon's hands move around very closely to how your moving your hands around. It's not exactly one to one, but it's a step in the right direction.

Actually in NP they said their going for the opposite of that - they are going to have different vertical and horizontal strikes, slashes, thrusts and stabs.
the slower you do the motion, the stronger your attack - the faster you do the motion, the weaker your attack is. Their is also a Charge attack where you have to do different motions with the nunchuk and wiimote to activate it.
Anyway - its seems like its going to be a good game, but i need to know more about it.
Also - i think this is bull because again, they said something totally different in NP.
FINALLY! I've been waiting for someone to make a proper motion-sensing game! SCL is gonna be awesome.

My thoughts as well. I would imagine there will be a whole bunch of control mappings set into the game that will mirror similar moves to what you actually do with the controller, which logically makes sense. It would take a tonne of effort to program a game to recognize every single angle and various weapons attacks, and I am sure a lot of gamers would like to be creative with how they choose to attack, it would be very difficult to make every attack that someone can dream up.
