Wow, who would have thought that stolen property would have been pulled?

What gets me is why even do this? You steal the character, you steal the world and enemies and then you release it yourself?

I hope Sega sues him so he has to live to 1000 to pay it all off

Some of these guys are clearly so talented they could make their own game and probably triumph the average sonic 4 episode 1. Make a new character, beat the moribund sega at their own game, profit.

He used the Sonic name and levels but there's still things he did on his own that they should take note of.

I don't think lawyers took the file down (it's up in other places). They (Team Sonic) almost always encourage fan made Sonic games. Especially the creator. I've got some screens... I won't post link to download until I know for sure it wasn't lawyers that took it down.

I have the demo, and it is beautiful. The physics are actually working how they should. It's a shame Sega doesn't want to even acknowledge the people that worked on this.

Sega: "What!? There are people that like Sonic this much to show tribute to him!? Let's not make note of it. Let's take them down instead!!"

They should change the character design slightly and call it Sonik, Sega wont be able to do a damn thing lol.

Now that is how you make a Sonic game.

Watching the video doesn't do it justice. Play the demo and you will just see how amazingly better it is. Even if the full version never sees the light of day, this demo is proof of a 2D Sonic game done right.

This. Even if you play the demo you will see that the movement and physics are way better done than in Sonic 4. So there is no way he stealed something that doesn't exist. SEGA should buy it ASAP.

im sorry to say this to all u praising this demo but sonic 4 is so much better. the graphics are not that great in the remix alot of the time u cant see **** the physics is amazing it like sonic 3 but the problem comes with the unresponsive controls it feels like there is lag when pressing any button. also teh levels are too dark and unimpressive the game feels like a flash game. sonic 4 is so much better

There's nothing AVERAGE about it if it is getting praise on metacritic. Honestly, I can't seem to be calling myself a Sonic fan these days. :roll:

So you're against the mod community, and independent developers? It's a free download, how does he profit? This is fantastic. We should be encouraging free lance developers like this so they get into the business.

This game looks marvelous. That's how Sonic 4 should've been. Great artstyle, great animation, and a lot of stuff going on in the background. I hope these guys do the entire Genesis trilogy.

If Sega sue it's only because they know how much of a superior iteration of Sonic it is compared to anything they have done in decades. I really doubt they give a damn about low budget Sonic rip offs. Sonic 4 is an ok attempt but it's still ways apart from being on par with the genesis games. This fan remake blows it out the water and into the sun.

That was amazing. There some small things that need fixing up and it overall looks low budget, but he got the gist of Sonic PERFECTLY. Considering this was one guy thats incredibly impressive. With a larger budget and more people this could easily be a GREAT Sonic game. SEGA need to hire this guy and make his game the way he wants it to be made.hexashadow13

I didn't think it looked low budget. That whale coming in was well animated. And going off on what someone else said, this game is leaps and bounds better than a flash game.

Something about the art style really grabs me. I think I was sold when I saw Robotnik's robot flying in the background.

There is nothing wrong with the physics. It's just fine as is. I had proven this point countless times that I am not going to bother. :/

Music: a 4 second boss loop and the music in Sonic 4 is much better than hearing "Seven rings in hand" almost every rendition of it in every level stage and option. YOU tell me that?

The game WILL be A at the very least, theres just no doubt, Colours is better than 4 in every single way possible. Scoring below 4 will be just wrong. Im hyping at AA...maybe even more...
