I like Snake better, but Sam is the better spy.Greyhound222
I actually agree that Sam Fisher is a stealthier spy. However, Snake is more experienced in combat, so in a direct fight, Snake would definitely win.

Well in a direct fight, yeah, but under normal conditions Sam would win,I think.Snake is fully trained in CQB so in the open no contest, however fisher is better at stealth, so if he snuk up on him he would prboably win.MasterC5
Snake can easily spot Fishers night goggles and the 'GPSwhateverthingy' on his back. Plus Sam ain't half the character Snake is.

I cant argue with thatI just turned on Metallica as I saw your avatar! ON TOPIC:The Sam Fisher goggles are really stupid.Solid snake is a clone of big boss
SamFisher is a clone of solid snake
so Big Boss for me.... he looks better in a tuxiedo
niall077
lol you should have chosen the MGS4 pic ofSNAKE instead of that family friendly looking one.
Solid Snake is a born soldier, after all he was cloned from the legendary Big Boss and was brought up as a deadly warrior. battlefield is Snakes Home and no one knows the battlefield better then Snake.
Also Sam Fisher looks like a hobo in Convictions.
Heres a better pic of Snake :D
Solid Snake, fluent in six languages, an IQ of 180, is an expert in scuba-diving, mountain climbing, parachuting, martial arts and small arms. Very well trained, he's capable of infiltrating any place under any circumstances...
Not to forget that he's in fact a super-human. The last one with the "warrior-genes" from big boss, who he also defeated.
Singlehandedly fought a M1 Tank, Hind-D helicopter, lots and lots of genome soldiers, Snipers, a guy with a minigun, a cyborg ninja...and, of course.. several metal gears.
Sam Fisher would **** in his pants.
Better developed character...Snake.
Who would probably win in a real world situation....Sam.
You should have said, fanboys, who do you like more?
Sam is an NSA agent, the game Splinter Cell is very very difficult if you are seen. Whereas in MGS you run away for a split second. Not hating on MGS for that, but thats why Sam would win. Plus, Sam would just do a split jump and wait for Snake to walk underneath him.
Solid Snake is based off of Snake Plisskin in John Carpenter's classic Escape from New York, so that by default makes him better.

Sam should turn off his night goggles though, Snake isn't blind.

I got the feeling that the lights were thrown in for effect, so the player could see Sam. I highly doubt in real life those would be visible. It would render the idea of being stealth useless.

Well obviously, but it's still a valid point. This is a game character debate after all :P

I know, I find it hilarious how his NVG and the light on his back are never seen  It's so obvious to see him in a real life situation like that lol
[QUOTE="carljohnson3456"]Actually BJ Blaskowitz from Castle Wolfenstein isSnake. He's the original.
skrat_01
But between Snake and Fisher, Snake is.
When did Wolfenstein come out anyway?

Wolf came out 3 or 4 years before Metal Gear, and is a surprisingly progressive and innovative game for its time. You could steal uniforms and whatnot.I guess you could stick Garret from Thief in there too, considering Thief came out before MGS and SC (note that SCs gameplay copies alot off Thiefs, however its in a modern setting).

lol I think I actually played Wolfenstien a looong time ago. My grandmother (of all people) had it on her old computer, it ran like Windows 94, lol. My uncle put it on there, so that's why it was. I was a kid and didnt know how important it was to gaming yet, lol.
That might have been Wolfenstein 3D which was the grandaddy of the FPS genre, as the original Wolf was out in 81 and was on DOS, Apple 2, Commodore 64 and Atari 8 bit.lol I think I actually played Wolfenstien a looong time ago. Here is the wiki link for it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_Wolfenstein
Eitherway not many people remember how important the original Wolf is to gaming, even many game critics say 'Metal Gear pioneered the stealth genre'.

Yup, you're right. It was Wolfenstein 3D. Good times, lol.
Seeing as snake is a chessy action movie star that uses laughable "stealth" techniques (hiding in boxes, lockers, barrels and throwing out adult magazines) I would choose sam fisher just because he's an ACTUAL spy not some overatted overdramatic character like snake.Gh0st_Of_0nyx
MGS4 = 10.
/thread.
 Jk, I see that alot and it gets old.
Anyway, I dont think Snake is cheesy at all. I used to like that Sam Fisher seemed like an actual spy though... but I like the MGS universe and all it's over the top bad guys. I mean, you could never have a character like Vamp or Physco Mantis in Splinter Cell. I guess what I am saying is... I'm glad they both exist. :) lol.

Of course you would say that, You have been bashing MGS4 for months on. You wouldn't just turn around and choose the character that stars the game you hate.

I  so badly when someone just randomly says MGS4 = 10. It has nothing to do with the topic and someone just randomly comes in and say it. And all the Fanboys get all worked up over it.
