so uhm why does the ps4 sound like robocop?

I have a ps3 and recently bought a ps4, and seriously, the noise it makes scares me. Why Sony?

It's just so loud, it makes me think it will break any second

I think I know what "Robocop" sound your talking about but mine only makes it when I put in a disc or start up a disc based game. It doesn't sound loud though...

Mine made a really loud noise when loading a disc at first. After looking online the fix was to wipe the disc (even though it was spotless to begin with). It worked and it hasn't happened with any games after that so try that OP

Sounds amazing unless you left PS4 turned on downloading stuff all night while sleeping lol.

You should probably treat your hardware better. Mine runs practically silent.

Odd, I don't have any sounds coming from mine other then disc spin up. It's not like the PS3 where you can hear the head moving inside and quick swishes.

I can't even hear the fan.

Yep, thats exactly when it sounds really noisy, I guess i'm not the only one then? L0L

my Wii U drive is noisy, it's always spinning even when I'm not in a game, I have to take games out when not playing in fear the drive will meet its end prematurely

by "Robocop" noise, I sure hope it's not an ED 209 noise, that'd be freaky, especially if it's that pig squealing noise it makes when it fell down the stairs

Sony obviously did it so they could promote the new Robocop. The movie isn't going to sell itself.

It only does it when you boot up the console, when you first load a game, and when you start a game to verify the disc. Other than that it is silent.

Yea, the XB1 is quieter, but its also huge so its a balance.

Console gets pretty damn warm.(ambient temps also play a role here)

mine only makes noise right when i put the disc in, once it reads the disc its quiet as a mouse.

And that's why the PS4 is awesome as well!
