No it isn't, the first question says nothing at all really.  Ask yourself why he wouldn't just be direct if there weren't plans in place to allow publishers to block them?

If he had said 'No, we will not block second hand games at all' then there would be no confusion and it would be great publicity...so why didn't he say that?

Sony can 'say' the PS4 does not block used games but in reality it will because most of the major publishers (EA, Activision, Ubisoft etc) will jump on the chance to restrict the second hand games market. It's just not Sony's fault if publishers decide to implement software that Sony has put into the system, so technically they are not lying, are they?

actually thats all i been reading about ... no ones talking about killzone or infamous other then graphics ... its all about the social features of the ps4 that i have been seeing ... people are really excited to share there gameplay to friends on facebook and youtube and such ... me included

Sony is putting face recognition to sign in on your PS4. I just read it here on GS. That's awesome! I always wanted a way to make so no one else could sign in on my PS3 account. Yeah!:D

The OP interprets this as, "yep, PS4 blocks used games confirmed."  SW is about as bad as Kotaku.

I been saying it from the beginning.

Sony/MS will refuse to make it built into the system BUT allow the publishers do what they want  so the blame don't fall on them and hurt console sells.

I can see online pass will most likely exist in heavy MP games while a "game" pass will be instilled in a heavy SP games.  If you buy game with no code you can choose to pay $x to active it. sadly that's way it going. All i can say is they need get with the program on pricing like PC.

You have to pay for the disc at Gamestop (or some other place that offers it). Go home, insert the disc. Pay AGAIN. This pretty much eliminates used games IMO. You guys are so mind **** by Sony, its hard to watch.

This is part of the point I was making.  In fact I didn't say in my OP that you would never be able to play used games, I mearly pointed out that he dodged the question posed to him.  I think the publishers will have the option to 'lock-out' used games if they wish and while the console might be physically capable of playing used discs it will have the ability to block them as dictated by the publisher.  In the end this is the same thing.

Obviously the thread title is designed to draw people in to argue the point but the actual OP states what I thought about the comments.  I'll wait to be proven wrong and i'll laugh when all the butthurt fanboys insulting me get owned.
