yep, Madden ususally marks the end of the summer droubt

and in about a week we get Bioshock, which imo is the most likely candidate for GOTY

1: There's always a game drought in summer because people don't play games in the summer. They go on vacation.

2: It's too hot to play games.

Summer is a great time to play video games.

Going on vacation? Bring your DS or PSP, or 360, Wii, PS3.....

It's hot? Stay inside and play games in an air condition room (Hopefully)

and there are even more games every month up to December. This is an expensive year and the drought is over, even thought I never noticed a drought. I always have plenty of games to catch up on. :)

why? Summer is the best time of the year. It deserves to be spent outside.

I know some just go out and ride their bikes and do some of that ghost rider thing on their car.... The thing is why does summer has to be so dry....good time to release a unexpected sleeper hit, or something...oh well at least it's over....can't wait for christmas!!!

Thought it was not too many good games come out on that period.

I guess there's no games released in the summer because games sell less in the summer. You can give all the reasons you can think of for why that is the case, but they ultimately dont matter.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if companies didn't release in the summer because fall is like the beginning of school, where people are going through a lot of change and could use a good video game to lighten up. I suppose the schoolyard is home to a lot of word of mouth advertising as well

Madden, in a week Bioshock, then a week later Metroid Prime 3, and shortly after that Heavenly Sword and Lair followed by Halo 3.

Well that sucks for people who live in alaska (me) because plane tickets are expensive, there's nothing to do outside, and gaming is awesome.
