So Forza 4 flopped

The numebers are in and forza 4 sold 235,195 units in the first week, now compare that to gran turismo which sold 587,933 units in the first week that is more that double the sales of forza 4. so now you guys know which racing game is the king.

man, i'm trying to go get something to eat but then something interesting always happening, so i guess i'm going to sit here and starve and read these comments.

Back on topic, not going to lie, forza isn't going to sell as many copies as gran turismo, the fanboys can fight over which game is better but gran turismo is the king of racers, when it comes to sells

After playing both I can safely say that Forza 4 destroys GT5. :D

Its not gonna sell more than GT...but just because it didn't sell better doesn't make it worse (of course everyone already knows this)

No, according to the System Wars "metagame" or whatever it is, Forza 4 flopped.

But that's the only way it flopped. It's doing well sales-wise and has the critical acclaim to back it up. So, yes, it flopped here in System Wars but that matters very little in the grand scheme of things.

Forza 4 will go on to sell pretty well, as the other installments have. Gran Turismo has always been a big seller, so this news isn't new.

This was stated by Dan Greenwalt about Forza 4:

"However, we take frame rate pretty seriously—we believe that having a solid 60 frames per second (FPS) experience with no tearing is very important for a simulation racing game. Delivering night is about more than just getting the general look right. As we found on the original Forza Motorsport, having multiple headlight projections with multiple cast shadows is computationally heavy—even using clever tricks like we did on the less powerful original Xbox platform. This makes delivering a strong night racing experience very difficult at 60 FPS without significant compromise."

well forza 3.5 just copied the same cars and tracks from forza 3 and added a few new ones, if grand was to have a agreement with every car maker to put their cars in there do you know how much that would cost, no one would be able to afford the game.

I know. it´s sad. The best racing game on the market should be the most popular :( :P

Well yeah that's pretty much what I was saying. Forza 4 only flopped here according to the silly metagame. In real world terms, Forza 4 didn't flop.

Well that is a big fail and it makes the games kinda boring without the effects and night racing glad i did not buy it.

Turn 10 did it for Forza 4, why couldn't Polyphony?

Forza 4 has less cars than GT5 overall but it has a much higher variety of cars from different manufacturers including more Ferraris, more Bentleys, more Aston Martins, more Mercedes-Benzes and so on.
