So Dead Rising 3 on PS4 would be 1080p constant 30fps?

@lostrib: yes, but they consider as shitty sub 60fps on 1080p, on Xbox One its 20-30 fps 720p

well apparently it defaults to 720p rendering (even if resolution is 1080p) unless you go into the game quality settings

I just checked eurogamer, there must be some serious issues with this game or the port:

"Let's put it this way - we also ran the game briefly on a six-core i7 3930K system with a 6GB GTX Titan and we still couldn't achieve a locked 60fps."

and even this game being a totally shitty port the minimum system requirements are complete BS

the game runs on systems with only 4gb ram and runs even on a r7 250 with visuals not much inferior to X1

TB did mention about SLI not working and if it did they maybe you could get that 60FPS but all in all, its a shitty port. It should not take a top end Intel CPU and two of the top of the range Nvidia video cards to run this game at 60FPS.

Yeah 2x Titans, plus the game supposedly has real issues with Nvidia cards crashing every 5-10mins, will wait till either Capcom patch it or Nvidia update thier drivers to even consider getting it.

If i try and run this game on my HD7850 with the textures on high the game stutters every 10 seconds for a quarter of a second... and I have no idea why...

Also I can get the game running at a fairly stable 30FPS but the cutscenes are at about 15FPS, although i do use vsync but this game tears like arse if i don't turn it on.

@leandrro: It could be 1080P 60fps on the XB1 if Capcom decides to update it next year. By then DX12 will be in place and another updated SDK will have been released.

I can't even hit 30FPS at 720p, what makes you think it will magically run at 1080p at 60FPS?

Vsync and seems to be a bit bugged at times. I noticed that when I alt tab out and back in that it runs at either 60 or 30 fps, these huge fluctuations are terrible to play with, however when I start the game it runs at 45-60 fps without these huge dips. I think it has to do with triple buffering.

When you alt tab out and back in you can fix it by changing the resolution to something else and back.

When you consider that the game runs at 15-30 fps at 720p on Xbox One with lower settings, this is pretty much in line of what performance you would expect with these GPUs. I'd say it's not a problem with the port but with the game itself.

Canadian, and Capcom were the ones that outsourced it, so why shouldn't they be blamed.

25 to 30 fps for the most part on xbone. its also capped at 30. if it wa suncapped there would be lots of times its above 30. pc guys love to ignore this part and instead go around listing the consoles worst case fps scenario as its average. the horrible performance on pc has nothing to do with vsync

im referring to the general massive fps fluctuations. i didnt mean 30 fps exactly, just that even on a titan at only 1080p performance drops to the low 30s a LOT. afaik the graphics at maxed settings are nearly identical to the xbone version with the possible exception of temporal smaa

Well I can't speak for a titan, but on my rig, without the vsync bugging out I haven't seen the performance drop into the 30s once and there are no massive fluctuations at all.

Any proof that XB1 = max settings on PC?

i believe it was touched on in the capcom twitch streams. they werent the developers tho so thats why i prefaced it with AFAIK. i guess the pc version probably has nominally better shadows as thats pretty common

It's not going to make the game any better. Maybe if MS ported actually good games like Halo MCC or FH2, or upcoming Scalebound (hopefully) i'll give a ****.

So weird Microsoft is supporting gaming on Windows, definitely when you've got the steam box that tries to lure away the gamers. What was Microsoft thinking releasing their exclusives on console and PC... :s

Because:

1- MS doesn't own those IPs. While there's probably a contract clause that keeps it from going to PS systems, the publishers can self publish a PC version.

2- Steam machines are no danger right.,mainly because most pc games run on Windows OS. Unless the Steam OS can do something, they'll be useless. Also, Valve, for some reason, thinks releasing multiple steam machine types is a good idea when consoles gamers want simplicity.

I'm a big pc supporter, but steam machines right now, i don't see it. Cmon Valve.

3- MS knows that to the average 100 million+ gamers who will eventually be picking up a console latter on don't care about pc. Tons of people on the net still think you a 1000+ euro rig to match a console. What do you think the average Joe thinks?

DF states the pcs highest settings are a match for xbone. resolution and maybe higher level of AF is only differentiator.

Ah I love it when people claim "crappy port" but none of the DR3 platforms had over 30 fps XD So it was not just the port that was crap ;)

Jokingly poking of DR3 aside, I think this might partly be due to a dev really aiming at 30 fps, it is kind of odd, with framerate unlocked I dart around 30-50 fps, locked at 30 it is rock solid O.o as in not even a single time where frames dropped far enough or long enough for my framecounter to even report on it. So it is a bit odd, you can tell that it was not built with 60 fps in mind (which is a really bloody shame, as it would have benefitted GREATLY from it).

But yeah the game was badly coded, in my case the Graphics settings pretty much doess'nt matter performance wise as nomatter if it is the highest I can get it or the lowest I can crank it, the max difference seems to be 5 fps, which is rather telling of some shoddy Work somewhere. I suspect most people experience the same, so we might aswell just crank it all the way up :s

Not really. If the performance issues on both consoles and PC are an indication, the engine itself is just plain bad.

im referring to the general massive fps fluctuations. i didnt mean 30 fps exactly, just that even on a titan at only 1080p performance drops to the low 30s a LOT. afaik the graphics at maxed settings are nearly identical to the xbone version with the possible exception of temporal smaa

In the first post you can clearly see a crappy PC with a crappy cpu and a HD7850(1GB vram LOL) manage to play at 1080p mostly high settings with 30fps.
