For a dev making indie games they're one of the very biggest.I've not noticed any developers leaving either network....doesn't seem like doublefine is and they aren't exactly large.

You mean like the one that came out in december and it´s one of the most expensive games ever made(or the most expensive)?
waltefmoney
Okay, non-MMO or RTS big budget PC exclusive.
Because you dont get any of those genre worth mentioning on consoles they dont count? Honestly a single free to play MMO can have more gameplay/fun/content and keep you playing longer than all of the in house developed games for PS3 or 360 combined.

Firefall, Tribes:Ascend, Planetside 2, Arma III.[QUOTE="ActionRemix"]I agree out of principle too. The PC is the natural home for indie games.rilpasyour sig is hilarious  that's not real, is it? No lol just a MS Paint job. The previous one was better he had it something like "I can't confirm the PS4 will be 10 times more power than PS3, but I will confirm it'll be one times as powerful as a PS4". I just liked that one.

even though PC is my favourite platform, I reluctantly have to agree here
seems every major PC game these days is either strategy (which I love) or mmo based (which I hate)
and when I say mmo based, I'm including games like star siege tribes, Mechwarrior or other online only games

like it or not you also fail to attract any new engines, your games are comprised of a handful of engines. whats that no x-ray, or cryengine 1-3. oh sorry my bad boy, i shouldnt be insulting your inability to evolve..a console isnt a console anymore.. its a pc that got tilted on its side and then told to stop its -----ing about the fact that it cant play with the big boys anymore..
dont worry next gen will see a casual sony, an even more gimmicky nintendo platform.. and an xbox with no used and and no exclusives.. all will be well again haha
ninja prease your in my house nowhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3fvr589x9s

That is only happening on PC, why even talk about it like they did not know consoles have high standards ?

guys? I'm not insulting the PC, I want to know what's this year's PC lineup that doesn't include these two genres? :PYes because all 360 games release with 0 bugs or glitches and the devs never have any need to patch them. Do the consoles even have five games exclusive high budget games worth excluding?
This is why developers like Steam and the PC as a platform. You dont have limitations, you can roll out free updates whenever you want, and there are less middle men taking a cut.

I didn't exclude shooters or simulation, I'm excluding MMO games in general
MMORTS, MMOFPS, MMORPG
whathever happened to singleplayer games?
and if you're talking about all 3 consoles then yes, there a lot of high budget exclusives this year, though I'll admit a lot of them don't interest me

Tribes : Ascend is not an MMO, it's an online shooter. Mechwarrior Online is not an MMO. It's a simulation. They both use a F2P model, and that's the only thing they have in common.. You can't just group different genres like that and ignore logic to make some stupid argument.whathever happened to singleplayer games?rilpasIt also applies to consoles. Most of the big stuff coming out is CO-OP, MP focused with very short SP portions.

actually I can, because they are what I'm looking for, I want singleplayer, offline games, I don't know how much clearer I can make that
now I ask again are there any big budget single player offline games?

You asked this for the first time, just now. You keep changing your argument in every post.
There are tons of exclusive games. There are tons of single-player games. There are tons of big budget games. Not a lot of games fit in the combination of the three. I can find some half assed strawman argument to throw against consoles too.
because they are what I'm looking for

Microsoft Charges Developers USD 40000 Per Xbox 360 Game PatchIs that just for retail and XBLA games or indie games as well?"Those systems as great as they are, they're still closed. You have to jump through a lot of hoops, even for important stuff like patching and supporting your game. Those are things we really want to do, but we can't do it on these systems," he said.
"I mean, it costs $40,000 to put up a patch – we can't afford that! Open systems like Steam, that allow us to set our own prices, that's where it's at, and doing it completely alone like Minecraft. That's where people are going."

I know developers get the first three patches for free. After that, they have to pay $40,000. No wonder why you see XBLA games get the drop in support. Monday Night Combat started up as a 360 game, quickly to be abandoned when the PC version was released. Now the sequel is a PC exclusive."Those systems as great as they are, they're still closed. derp, well why would you put any effort into making a game for xbla, psn, vita, or 3ds when you can just throw some cheap trash together and sell it on a phone and make a mint?
i have probably dl'd a hundred demos and free games of these new super popular franchises on my droid and not one is worth a crap.
why put in any effort making a good game when garbage does so well? i wouldn't either if i could get away with doing a half assed job and make more money.
Its silly that its 40k a pop for updates. As a dev I'm not going to patch my game when its 40k especially if I'm small. The deterant from putting out a crappy product should simply be getting low levels of user satisfaction. Patching should always be free.

while 40,000 sounds absurd, making an xbla or psn game isn't as complicted as making a full title. Should you need to patch it you probably arent making much money off it since it sucks.

Console games get numerous patches. Skyrim and BF3 still suffer from issues. New Vegas had a game-breaking bug for the 360, where it would freeze after a very short period of play-time. I would have thought that your embarassing topics from yesterday would shut you up... Apparently not :(
