EA recently made a number of new announcements about their future plans, including the suprise announcemnt of bringing EA games to Steam.

with EA going back to steam, making something good again (like jedi fallen order) with no microtransaction etc, Crysis 1 was teased month ago. and EA finally announced than they are working of multiple remsater in fiscal year till march 2021.

its very likely that Crysis remake is next in line. please be true and please be like original one but with new graphics.

They should try and optimize it this time. And I'd much prefer Warhead.

they should add warhead part in to Crysis remake in a middle when psycho left missing.

anyways i didnot like warhead much as original. Original was masterpiece.

Warhead is great throughout. Crysis slows down to a miserable crawl once you enter the ship. And the final boss is terrible, too. Nice environments, though. And I like Psycho over Nomad.

I don't see why, can always just play Crysis and it's EA, be something horrible about it, if not now, down the line as they drive the franchise into a grave again.

I really do not see the point of remaking my all time favorite game that introduce me to the world of PC and Crysis still holds alright today's standards but yes, it's showing it's age but the game itself aged well enough it doesn't need a remake. EA, just give us Crysis 4.

to improve graphics, and animations, and also draw distance.

and let crytek can also rework on second half and fix it.

Why remake it when all you have to do is turn the settings up to max? That magically makes it a current gen game in graphical capabilities... right?

They'd aim for consoles and just make Crysis 2 again.

this is not 2011.

new console and prob next gen console are powerful enough to run 10 crysis games.

crysis 2 was dumbed down because 360 was not powerful enough to run sandbox game with best graphics. now we have seen ambitious games like Cyberpunk (which is bigger Deus Ex) and RDR2.

I think this remaster will just be the one they released for Xbox360. Crysis 2 controls and the VTOL mission gone. Obviously better visuals, though.

Crysis (1) could already work fine on a control pad.

Publishers deliberately make stupid games presuming the consumer is stupid.

Exactly what Crysis 2 was. Wasn't just technical limitations, it was a design philosophy.

Ghost Recon Wildlands has probably 1000 times the graphics being poured into it compared to Advanced Warfighter yet its a simplistic shell around simplistic rewards.

Its ubisoft. it bound to be simplistic.

look at new Metro. its bigger Crysis of today. work fine, play fine.

if Crysis 4 happen today and if Crytek didnot screwed it up. it would be as good as original. now making remake is just test for them.

Crysis 2 was more linear and more scripted. Crysis 1 was impossible on console. thats why console version of Crysis 1 was basically crysis 2 in island.

in 2007, Crysis was ahead of its time in tech, in gameplay, and was first sandbox game to feature best graphics at that time.

Are you sure I've never played it because not only have I played it, it is also sitting on my game shelf somewhere, unless I traded it in. I will look for it tomorrow and take a pic if I find it.

Its after 8:30pm here so i'm not looking tonight.

Crysis has always been the game, the only PC game that got me into PC gaming in the first place and it was that year I build my very first PC rig just to play it. The game itself has a special place among my gaming legacy. Don't know about ghost, Crysis is still my go to play from time to time. I love Crysis, I love Halo series for the lore.

One of the (only) things Crysis 2 improved upon rather than went backwards on. The AI (when not bugging out) was really good, climbing scenery, doing patrol searches, taking cover, attacks and retreating etc...

Shame about literally everything else.

Human-enemies were dumb in the original and very, very easy to kill. You were practically OP unless you made a conscientious effort to gimp yourself.

The aliens (which make up a huge part of Crysis 2) are far more challenging with stuff to directly counteract the suit, with equal speed and traversal capabilities.

No, it means Crytek tries to cash in on their previous work again from when they didn't suck, because they still suck. Plus, I've already played Crysis to death ffs.

Genuinely shocked that people enjoy the last 3rd (or so) of Crysis enough to call it a masterpiece?

It's still an excellent game overall, but those alien tunnels man, they sucked. No masterpiece for me!

A remake should redo those levels or even just cut them. That'd be an improvement.

I literally just played the trilogy on Xbox 360 in 2017. Its amaaaazingly good, especially 3 (and looks phenomenal, Especially 3). The final boss of 1 was too hard, though at least had a checkpoint halfway through.

the idea of remaking them strikes me as weird, as 1) I want them to be backwards compatible with Xbox One/Scarlet first, and 2) they look phenomenal NOW, and have gameplay that’s some of the absolute best for a straight FPS. Like...they aren’t that old, just buy the existing trilogy.

I’d rather have a fourth game.

also, I’m glad I played the trilogy prior to playing Farcry 1. I expected that to be worse, but it’s not just worse, it’s broken, and thousands of times worse playing than the crysis trilogy (ditto for visuals). it blows my mind that the same developer can make farcry, then basically remake it with Crysis and have it be so many times better in every possible way. I wouldn’t think Crysis was any good had I played farcry first....and ironically after all these years, it turns out Ubisoft’s Xbox 1/360 port of 1 is actually a vastly superior game, when I had always assumed it was a dumbed down port.

This.

And remake character models. Human enemies are by far the ugliest part of the game.

And add stealth knife takedowns to the first game like how it was implemented in the other two. And add the composite bow while they are at it.

Thinking about it there are enough changes to make to the first game to make it worth revisiting.

I really do not see the point of remaking my all time favorite game that introduce me to the world of PC and Crysis still holds alright today's standards but yes, it's showing it's age but the game itself aged well enough it doesn't need a remake. EA, just give us Crysis 4.

Crysis is your all time favourite game huh, that puts you on ghost level of bad taste.

Good for you, but both Halo & Crysis are just meh FPS to me.

check this out. thats why Crysis was big deal.

Just gotta say COD4 is one of the most overrated games of all time. It's a major reason why the FPS genre got dumbed down after it's release the gaming publishers pushed for it's shitty formula because it made money.Crysis sequels felt victim to the dumbing down effect same with the F.E.A.R. sequels and the Battlefield series too COD4 poisoned the FPS genre with it's shallow gameplay.

@Litchie: Agree on Crisis,

I would much rather Timeslitters 2. Crisis was a PC gamers wankfest.

Let's be honest here, the only thing that the Crysis series is known for is the graphics, not the gameplay, nor the story. Throw away your nostalgia-colored glasses. Crysis (1) had huge, yet empty island with literally nothing to do except admiring "teh graphics", the weapon customization system was kinda nice, using the suit capabilities was fun at first, but quickly switching between the modes in combat felt "too stiff" therefore undermining the fun factor - i actually prefered the so called "dumbed down" suit controls in Crysis 2.

Unless we have some "Mandela effect" shit going on here, the whole Crysis series is just pretty to look at, chore to actually play (especially the very first one).

I think Crysis was a great game. People acting like it was just a demo for PC graphics annoy the shit out of me. Most of these people haven't even played the fucking game. The suit was very innovative and created really fucking sweet gameplay. Something you don't understand if you're too dumb to use the suit, or haven't played the game (like most people who think their opinion of the game should be valued).

And I wouldn't want a TimeSplitters 2 remake either. I want something new. TimeSplitters 4, for example. But then I would also like if current Crytek didn't suck.

An idea I can get behind. I enjoyed everything up to Crysis 3, and I’d consider a remake an apology for how idiotic their writers were.

I still think Crysis 2 is badmouthed way too much. And even my protestations toward Crysis 3 aren’t particularly oriented toward its gameplay, which was good.

I don't care about a remaster of a game that I can play just fine in my PC right now, better Remake great games that does not run on PC anymore like freaking Medal of Honor ALLIED ASSAULT!
