If This game is PS5 exclusive and wont let on PC. I will happily buy PS5 solely for this.

MGS1 was masterpiece and its the one that deserve remake treatment. dont care about demon soul remake.

You might have missed the fact that this whole AAA industry is creatively bankrupt.

Just like Hollywood it survives on existing IP and remakes.

I loved MGS but the game is like 10 hours long (or less if ur good) and there is already a great rebuilt of Shadow Moses in MGS4.

Hope they can expand the game, idk maybe get kojima to expand on moments before miller gets killed by liquid.

Also Moore's Law is dead has been wrong way too many times on hardware predictions, I think.

They used to do multiplat HD remasters before partnering with Sony.

Edit: they only did MGS collection and Titanfall 360 versions. All others are Sony.

Well its the best game in the series, but that's not saying much as the first game was average anyway, oh and good luck getting the rights off of Konami.

Please don't remake the Twin Snakes version. Those cut scenes got stupid

Not being a fan of the MGS series aside, anything Bluepoint makes henceforth is worth the attention.

Thus this rumor is false.

Bluepoint were one of the teams reponsible for Porting MGS collection to PS3/360 and Vita. They also ported the a bit underwhelming Titanfall PC port.

@sakaixx: me2002 was right. They made the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall. The pc version was done internally and was quite alright :)

Didn't know bluepoint was responsible for MGS ports before. They always seem to pick projects they are passionate about.

@vfighter: isn’t mgs kind of known for having hours upon hours of cutscenes? Honestly only played 5, but heard previously versions were filled with cutscenes!

The long standing rumor is that Konami is licensing their IP to Sony so yeah, it's certainly possible if that initially rumor is true.

@djoffer123: Later games had more and more cutscenes, but still a ton of gameplay. The first game though while it did have cutscenes they weren't long or crazy like the later games. In no way would the first game be called a movie game (a term that itself is just way overused to begin with).

They should focus on developing a new game or even a sequel.

I would absolutely love a Metal Gear Solid remake especially from a studio as talented as Bluepoint. Definitely hope this rumour is true.

I did just play through MGS1 on the PS1 and I gotta say.... It holds up way better than most PS1 games; in pretty much every area including cinematics, narrative, and game play.

Or DLC for that sixth arch stone in Demon's Souls.

That's a good point. Metal Gear Solid wasn't designed around MGS2 mechanics and obviously the gameplay has been updated well since beyond that.

Are they just going to try template the level design onto it, or completely redo everything to the point it doesn't even resemble it?

Either way, very little interest. Rather just play the OG.

Yeah it's a weird one. Simply updating MGS1 graphics, preserving the atmosphere, and changing nothing else could be neat. They could make the game look insanely good too, given the fixed camera and small spaces.

But yeah, as soon as you start looking at the series more modern mechanics and free camera, every other element of the game has to be redesigned in turn. From level design, to enemy placement, routes, and AI, to boss fights, etc.

Which like you said, wouldn't be MGS1 at that point.

And it's like ok, but still could be a cool reimagining... but we've never seen Bluepoint design a game.

Interested to see where this goes if there's anything to it, but not exactly optimistic.

Best case would be Bluepoint doing what they do, handling development, while Kojima and team oversee the design side of things. But big doubt there.

That Express article made the editor in me want to cry as the writer has no grasp of how to structure a story. I had to resist sending an email demanding access to their CMS so I could fix it.

On the topic of this thread: if true, cool. If not, I'm still interested in what Bluepoint has in store.

They do remasters, doing a remake is a big responsibility. They have made two games in their history, and 9 ports/remasters. This should be interesting.

I have to ask why people are always starting rumours that Sony are getting Konami IP's all the time when not 1 of the dozens of rumours has turned out to be true lol.

I'll play it for sure. I really liked MGS5. Can't remember much on the time I spent with MGS 2 and 4.
