RE5 Japan's first day sales: PS3 4:1 360

Gamezine: First day sales of Resident Evil 5 are in from Japan. The game sold four times as much on the PlayStation 3.

According to Ameblo.jp Resident Evil 5 sold 278,000 on its first day in Japan.

What's more incredible is that Resident Evil 5 has beaten launch day sales of Resident Evil 4. The game sold 117,000 copies on the Gamecube in January 2005 and 145,000 copies on the PlayStation 2 in December 2005.

The Flame Bait isn't really needed TC. Impressive sales though, especially with the fact that the PS3 has a much smaller install base than the PS2 at the time of the release of RE4.

I am a PS3 fan, but your conclusion is not supported by your arguement. COnsidering the PS3 has been greatly outselling the 360 in Japan, and RE5 is not on Wii...it stands to reason the PS3 version would be most popular. All you are doing in ensuring there are a million lemming posts predicting the doom of PS3 in NA when the game launches here and the 360 version outsells the PS3 version. Again, due to higher console user base.

What's the ratio of PS3's to X360's in Japan? 3:1, 3.5:1? It'd be a different deal if they had the same install base, but you might as well say more tickets were sold for New York Yankees season opener than the New York Islanders. It's something of a given...

I think posting info regarding sales on both PS3 & 360 was enough... its really useless to utilise every info/news etc as a tool to bash a system..

Happy for Capcom, they're amazing devs and deserve the success they are having with their titles... Am sure we'll see great sales for RE5 on both systems in EU/US too...

TC, you need to cool it on the trolling. A day, or even a few days, worth of sales do NOT determine a whole year. You probably get pissed when epople try to say the PS3 is dead and call this gen over well before it is. So, why are you doing the same with 2009? There is so much more to be seen and to happen before ANYONE can make such claims.

I don't know why people are ragging on you for your last paragraph, if I understand correctly your post will be locked if it isn't SW material, without the last paragraph this isn't SW material.

Nah I'm not saying you are a lemming, I'm just making a general statement against lemmings. I do agree with your point though, but lemmings seem to forget the situation in japan is the same one in NA , yet they gloat about multiplats selling better on thier system.

Don't forget, to serious fanboys you can't expect them to acknowledge things that actually make sense... Of course it's going to sell more on PS3 as there is a higher ratio of PS3:360 in japan.

No it doesn't, you'd have to zoom in 300x and slow the game down 10x to see the differences just like SF4 aka no difference. Also if it looks that much better, we should see some differences in review scores and it should be mentioned in the reviews just like Fallout.

Yes because I'm sure you've played both. I compared them side by side and they looked the same. Infact I got a framerate dip on the 360 version.
