But whenever you and another player joined together, he already has all the upgraded weapons, infinite ammo and full armor. Where's the fun and challenge in all that?

It's just not possible to find a player online who would be willing to start the whole game as fresh without those overpowered stuff by removing his save data.

i like it when it was just chris.

And I don't want to sound racist but I think the only reason why Sheva was added not because of the co-op but because people were calling the game racist. And that not every villager is black is another theory.

Yes, the co op was only great when you and your partner were both noobs in that game. It's stupid that the RE5 makers never thought of giving the players an option to start the whole coop game as new without the equipments and money from the previous game, but you have to remove the save data yourself.

The villagers thing isn't a theory, its actually true. For some reason or another, there was a pretty big outcry about all the villagers in the game being black (Black people? In Africa? Nonsense) and people called racism on it. Of course, nobody cared that everyone in Spain (Resident Evil 4) was Spanish, and every single person you kiled was Spanish. That wasn't racist. But killing infected Africans in... Africa, is totally racist. But in all seriousness, there was a lot of complaining about it so Capcom made the villagers more races. It was all a bunch of nonsense, but they caved in on it.

Me and my friend sat down at 8 o clock in the evening with a crate of beer and played that ***** to completion in a single sitting, good times :D It's a great co-op action game but disappointing for those wanting a scary single player.

Great co-op game.
One of the best games to play with a girl along with LBP = WIN!

You can choose to turn off infinity weapons, or play on a higher difficulty. You can easily stock up on a lot of ammo and supplies.

Im pretty sure you're both smokin some good stuff. Pass it.

I disagree though. As a co-op game, and thats all I can praise it for, it did a good job. A shame its not what re5 should have been, but thats another subject for another day.

It was honestly quite annoying. I was thinking "Wow, there sure are a LOT of white people in this part of Africa...sure we aren't in the southern region? No? Oh, guess the world's largest missionary trip just got caught up in all this at the wrong time."

As much as I was disappointed with RE5, I completely agree with you. Me and a friend played it right through together and had a blast. Obviously it probably wouldn't be as fun while playing with a stranger, but that's true for pretty much any game.

I'm playing it again now, and it's amazing. No other co-op let's me feel more awesome.

It's a different kind of Resident Evil, but it's Resident Evil and it's great.

Strangely enough, my first thoughts of co op in a Res game was that it just wouldnt work. Res was all about isolation, being alone, ect. But in the end, it pretty much made a mediocre game (in my opinion), half decent. Pretty ironic. :P

There were. Every race was represented. As Verg said, the biggest missionary trip in history from all around the globe must have gone horribly awry. Yep. And as Verg said, I actually found it profoundly annoying. It is Africa. The people should be African. If there were no problems shooting Spanish people in Spain, why is there an issue shooting African people in Africa? Much like any other enemy in Resident Evil, you weren't fighting people that followed their own will. These are Majini, people being controlled by Las Plagas. If they do something violent, it's not a racial stereotype. Hell, it's more racist to see their actions as stereotypes, because then you are just seeing race, you're not seeing what they are: Majini, people being CONTROLLED. But the obsession with being politically correct caused Capcom to make Africa a multi-racial gathering, at least in this part of it. Personally, the majority of the time there is no sense in being politically correct. All you're doing is giving in to someone who will always find something to be offended about. So I see no reason to be politically correct, but rather the opposite. That way when you offend that kind of person, you can have the pleasure of doing it intentionally.

Please, trust me when I say this. Resident Evil 5 is probably the most optimized game I've ever played on the PC. Now, comparing 30fps to 60fps for Resident Evil 5 is a HUGE, and I mean HUGE difference. I honestly couldn't play it at 30fps, after playing it at 60.

Disagree with anyone calling this a great co-op game, it's merely alright IMO. In order for something to be considered "Great", they need to have controls that actually work for an action game.

If it was only a great game, period. Let alone a co-op game. It's not terrible. It's decent. I still prefer the "older" Resident Evil games. RE5 feels too "Capcom" for me. I'm not going to expect anyone to understand my meaning..

Luckily I played with my brother so we were both on the same footing.
Yeah, if it was longer than 5h...silversix_
Really? I think it took me about 20 hours to beat it. I was playing co-op with my brother and we explored a lot though.

Disagree with anyone calling this a great co-op game, it's merely alright IMO. In order for something to be considered "Great", they need to have controls that actually work for an action game. HoolaHoopMan

One of my favorite things about it in co-op is how dysfunctional it is:P

It's just annoying in the single-player, but in the co-op it leads to some of the most hilarious situations ever.

Not exactly what I would call a "great game" (or even a decent one :P) but definitely tons of fun :P

To me it is great, even though the constant "come on"can be annoying, its very fun. Especially Merceneries or Versus where i could spend hours.

Great game indeed, but it does not play like a "long-developed" game.
