hmmm. interesting. I wonder what the fix is or if it will happen on all tv sets or even during game play. I might just only show up when the screen is black. Anyway good find.

Already had a thread on this.

Chop the negative terminal.

Put tape over it.

Not to mention the far larger areas of glare at the bottom of the screen.

Non-issue for me.

A: company removes parts of their system just to make the price look good

B: a company who stands behind whats in their system even if the price is little more

pick your poison I guess. I still wish sony bundled the ps eye with ps4 even charge $450 would still be cheaper then the xbox and you would insured every publishers that every ps4 sale has a ps eye

No. I like to find solutions to problems.

Even problems which don't really exist, like this one.

I'm surprised you focus on the tape as opposed to chopping the negative terminal of the LED, lol.

Should only be a problem on plasmas, I don't think it will appear on a TV with an LED/LCD type screen.

I guarantee that light will bother none of you guys. Someone asked if it can be turned off Yoshida said no then someone equated that to seeing glares on the screen. Seriously people?

Vari3ty

Yeah plasma uses glass and is reflective and even the best anti glare coating isn't enough.

LCD usually has a matte finish and virtually shows no glare.

On a side note... Really wish the TV channels with bright white logo would get rid of them. I got crap tons of the burned into my plasma... Takes hundreds of hours to remove them.

If LCD didn't look like crap to me, I would be using one for my TV.

There's a reason why the light bar is aimed downwards. Unless you are intentionally aiming the light bar at the screen at close range, the glare should be minimal to non-existent. The PS Eye is suppose to be placed below your TV, hence the light bar is aimed downwards and not straight ahead.

Was the footage on the left filmed with a camera, or is that a captured stream? I am pretty sure the answer is that was a captured stream.

I feel bad doing this because my position on the issue is that it's not going to be a problem. But if that is a captured stream then the effect of the controller's light cannot be measured.

I think those are the main colors but they're probably using an array of RGB LED's so they can pretty much use any color they want.

It's a captured stream. The point is that the light bar is aimed downwards, which you can see in the gif and the official press shots. The actual light from the light bar that is reaching the screen or even the PS Eye is minimal considering the natural angle of the light source (essentially the viewing angle). I definitely agree that there should be an option to disable it but it's seriously not an issue.

I'm sure someone is gonna come up with a cover of some sort. Maybe with logos of the ps4 cut out so it glows just the ps4 or even logos of games or Sony characters lol. I see no problem. I was thinking of getting carbon fiber look film and wrapping it over the light bar as I dont plan on using the PS Eye.

Xbox One controller also has a flaw. You can't tell which controller is controller 1, 2 etc. It has no indicator lights. You probably have to hit the sync button on each controller to find out.

Yup. Now that I think about it, the move wand controllers probably light up more that the ps4 controller would and I havent heard of that being an issue.
