PS3 or XBOX for RPG Lover?

Hey - This for the RPG lovers out there! In your experience, which is the better console for fans of RPG's? It appears that XBOX currently has more RPG's to offer, but having played Everquest Online Adventures in the past and loving it, as well as a few other RPG's that are exclusive to Sony I am wondering if buying a PS3 would be the better investment.xAllisonx

Xbox. IDK why you would play MMOs on consoles.

Demon Souls and WKC(?) will be out in the US, and PS3 will have FFXIII exclusively for the moment. Also ToV will have come to PS3

Im a hardcore RPG fan and I have found a satisfying RPG fix in the 360.

Thanks for the great opinions and insight! It sounds like the 360 is currently a better option for RPG players, but...I would hate to invest in a 360 just to turn around and have another Everquest come out for the PS3. It's all speculative, and it may never happen but I long for that day! HehxAllisonx

Well, after all the Xbox does get the ME series, as well as having general graphical advantages over the ps3, so if you are going for wrpg's then xbox 360 is made for you

Lots of J and WRPGs and Masseffect. The best RPG this gen :D

360 you can get alot of good rpgs now for under 20 bucks. like blue dragon. mass effect,lost odssye ect ect

if you have 260 bucks that would get you a arcade 360 and 3 good rpgs. hard to beat that imo

PC for the greatest RPG this gen, The Witcher.

Quite simply, neither. The 360 RPGs have been hopelessly mediocre and the PS3 doesnt' really have any. This isn't including SRPGs, of course, which are often grouped in with JRPGs but they are not "JRPGs."

No, the DS and the PSP don't have very good JRPG libraries either. Nothing does this gen.

There's a number of RPGs of JRPGs coming out in the PS3 but in Japanese so far. (Agarest Senki Zero, Atelier Rorona, Trinity Zill Ol' Zero, Last Rebellion, Trinity Universe).

Tbh, they look poor. The first will never come out in the US because its a tasteless porn filled SRPG.

360. No competition. More JRPGs + FF then a ton of WRPG + exclusive content in multiplat rpgs

The 360 is RPG console king. The PS3 doesn't hold a candle to it.

360 best console for rpgs.

the ps3 only has folklore, valkyria chronicles which is tactical rpg, and demon souls supposed to be good. (white knight chronicles on the horizon)

the 360 has lost odyssey, mass effect, blur dragon, tales of vesperia(coming to ps3?), last remnant(coming to ps3?), fable 2...

they both share a few too like eternal sonata and fallout 3.

each have great RPGs to offer

the best RPG I have played on the 360 is Fable 2, and its an awesome game

the PS3 has Valkyria Chronicles, which is absolutly amazing

and since both are getting FF13 (the PS3 is getting FF versus), then I would say both are worthy buys for RPGs

Unfortunately, outside of a few gems, RPG players have rather lost out this gen.

I'm happy with the 360 for Mass Effect, Fable 2, Lost Odyssey, and Infinite Undiscovery (I know it isn't winning awards or anything, but I was able to enjoy it), but I still bought a PS3, just to play Disgaea 3, Folklore, and Valkyria Chronicles.

To answer your question, most every RPG out can be played for less on the 360, so I guess I'd recommend that direction unless you're massively hyped for Demons Souls or White Knight Chronicles.

As an rpg lover I can testament to the fact that neither console will satisfy your needs.

i say ps3 for jrpgs and xbox for wrpgs, valkyria chronicles is amazing and demons souls is awesome too. i enjoyed disgaea 3 too ,huge fan of the series, i havent tried folklore but they say its a great game and there are also eternal sonata(*** voice +++ if you enjoy jrpgs),tov coming and enchanted arms, and offcourse versus xiii

the only jrpgs for 360 that are good are lost odyssey,star ocean 4 ,i liked spectral force 3 too thought

if you are a jrpg fan like me you have to wait till septembers tokyo game show to choose if you are not in a hurry ,i expect suikoden vi multiplatform :)

for wrpgs hands down 360 ,fable 2,mass effect .........if you buy a ps3 instead for wrpgs i suggest demons soul i know it isnt but its more dark and cruel than anything this gen

I hate to tell you this, but this generation RPG's aren't nearly as popular...that being said, the 360 does have the lead in RPG's.

Coming from Last Gen to this gen though, you are in for a harsh new reality when it comes to your favorite genre.
