Yeah, the Fox Engine seems pretty nice. I really wish this game weren't cross-gen, it'd be great to see them push the new consoles.

Really hope the PC version gets some good mods.

The videos of that are up, though its offscreen compressed crap. Probably running off a PS4 too, but the only differences are resolution and framerate.

Same, hopefully Kojima's vision wasn't crushed too much by the L.C.D twins.

I'm debating right now if I should grab one of the new 900 series nvidia cards in the near future, but I get the feeling all that power will just go to waste with a large majority of the titles coming out.

That is PS4 screenshot most likely since the resolution displayed is 1920x1080 which is not the 720p res that the PS3/360 run it at.

Sometime I think gamers are like that fish from Finding Nemo.... Easily distracted by Something Shiny.

The question is why would you bother with the PS3 version if there is PS4 and PC versions?

No way, man. 360 will forever be foliage king. Fable 2 has 120,000 leaves on a single tree.

@lostrib: this is an OLD joke. From back in the days of Fable. There was a Lemming that claimed some foliage king garbage and spent a month posting about the trees in Fable.

The game is also on x360 and it will also be released on pc The fox engine is a pc engine.

Seems to me consoles just discovered what pc could do in 2007 with crysis.

The cell architectrue is a horrible piece of crap that was created in order to discourage developers from porting to other platforms from sony, believing that sony would get ps2 market share with ps3. So the devs would give up and thus free third party exlusives. Ps3 was originally gonna launch without a cpu and the low memory of ps3 is what resulted into the horrible linear and scripted nonsesne that doors close behind you in order to load the next area into the tiny ram. Dont praise DA CELL even for a second.

Had the PS3 used a unified memory setup, and a properly developed GPU and not some rushed old tech, the PS3 would easily have been better to work with, considering the Cell would not have needed to help out the GPU so much. But yes, shortcuts were made because of the Cell, to save costs, and that resulted in these huge bottlenecks in the architecture. And I think you mean the PS3 was gonna launch without a GPU? They went to Nvidia kind of in the last minute when they discovered the Cell wasn't powerfull enough as a CPU and GPU.

At the time when they were developing the Cell, CPU's were kind of low tech, and would not have been good enough for a next gen console. I can understand why they developed they're own, which had record breaking performance for a CPU. They wanted everything in one chip, trying to get into the CPU market.

@Martin_G_N: yes i meant gpu. Also the ps4 is bottleneck suckerpunch admited the cpu is a bottleneck and the irony is the ps3 cpu is more powerfull than the cell cpu.

MGS5 isnt even on PS3.

And in all honesty, we cant even say for sure if that MGS5 footage was actually running on PS4 becuz Kojima had announced 3 weeks earlier that MGS5 was coming to PC.

Because the PS4 has 15-20% better graphics, a better controller, and Sony was ready to release a new console where everyone had to pay to play online multiplayer so Sony could make a profit in their game division and start outselling MS by a larger margin.

Funny thing is the screen posted is the only one where the foliage is even remotely decent. Every other screen in the link, the foliage is as bland as any last gen title.

Yawn.

That and I thought all the promotional stuff for MGS5 was mostly PS4.

Ground Zeroes already is, and Phantom will be. MGS5 as a whole is a gross gen title.

1. MGSV + Fox Engine development started 5 years ago on the PS360. The PS4/Xbone versions are just ports with higher res textures, higher resolution (on the PS4 version) and double the frame rate. Cool that they're pulling so much out of these old ass consoles. Disappointing that this game won't make the new consoles sing.

2. Konami just can't say no to these two massive install bases. Can't really blame them either.
