PS3 has poor software sales??

Hey guys, I'm not taking sides for any system, I just stumbled upon an article that had some interesting graphs. The system sells are strong for the most part, with tthe 360 doing well, ps3 good, and Wii dominating.

However, surprisingly on the 2nd graph, software sales are another story. I had to look twice, but the ps3 doesn't seem to be selling as much as it's competitors game wise.

This is why every third party PS3 exclusive will eventually jump in.

Actually the PS3 has a higher attack rate than the 360 and the Wii. So far it is like this: Wii 25m, 360 20m, PS3 15m. The PS3 is selling more software than the 360 and Wii when they both were at 15m units sold. If you all say 360 software sales more is like comparing the PS2(130m units sold) with the 360(20m units sold) of course the game will sell a lot more on the PS2 because it has a larger userbase. So so far software sales go like this: PS3 1st, 360 2nd, Wii 3rd.Hitman533

This is NPD, thus Canada, USA numbers. Global numbers are yet to be knowned. That is what I think he was refering. Still, Wii is the dominating console, with 360 and PS3 following it.

The Wii would have probably been lower if you took out the 10 million Wii Play copies sold. But .2 games behind the Wii for second place isn't exactly "poor".II-FBIsniper-II

Wii Play hasn't even sold 10 million copies in the US.

Plus, attach ratios don't matter if the install base is bigger.

I know a few people who just bought the PS3 for the Blu-Ray Player. Because at the time of release, it was the cheapest blu-ray player on the market. I don't know how many cases are like this, but i'm sure there are at least a few more.DmanxPS2

oh yea most the people i know with a PS3 bought it for the blu-ray and to play madden and NBA 2K9 in hi def lol
