Awesome 7 seconds

If they would've taken more time with the 1st one, it could've been a great game. Looks just like the first as far as I could tell in that clip. But will wait for more info.
i was a fan of the first one.
the possessing people to get the storyline was pretty cool and i loved the whole gta superhero vibe.
it was like the perfect counterpoint to infamous with infamous being the shooter and prototype being a hacky slashy brawler.

Well said. I preferred it to infamous because it was just more fun to be Alex than Cole. So much fun with those powers. Lightning got meh as infamous went on.i can see how it got boring early on.. but do you mind if i ask how far you got on it?I beat it once. Played it for a few more hours after beating it, and then got bored of it.[QUOTE="Doolz2024"]First game got boring quick, I don't see the sequel being much better.ultraking
If any of you here actually played the first one, you would notice the smoother graphics and better lighting. That is quite an improvement, but I am more worried about the new protagonist and the gameplay.
I hope he is not as generic as Alex and doesn't drop F bombs like Rico. And the combat better have some new additions and less copy+paste moves from Prototype (which had majority of the moves copied from Hulk: Ultimate Destruction).

I thought the game world was better at the start when it was normal and no infection, it was cool to just walk among the people and act normal. It got annoying afterwards when everyone just opened on you all the time. Good idea for a game but needs a LOT of variety and the graphics it boasts look like something from PS2. And we all know that graphics can really help a game a lot
I'm interested. I lked the first one. I loved Hulk Ultimate Destruciton. I didn't like Infamous BTW. Cole and Zeke = bleh. Trashbag hobos < Military.
Jacking Helicopters from the ground, turning into an armored monster and eating people to take their identity > All the powers in Infamous combined. Not to mention the moral choices were so black and white, and barely changed the story at all. Meh. Infamous gets my vote for the most overrated game on System Wars. That being said i;d give neither over a 7 but I had a lot more fun with Prototype.
All of them games were only worth rentals for me. Except Hulk becuase he's ****ing smashing.
The only think I liked about the first one was Alex. He was a badass. And now they took him out and made him the enemy?? its so stupid
this topic reminds me of this.

beware though cuz.... it's a trap!
I'm a fan of the first one. I loved it and enjoyed every second of it. But Prototype is one of those games that lacked so many elements (while pulling off the perfect solid formula regarding gameplay) that if they had gotten it right from the start, the game would've been just phenomenal.
The graphics didn't helped its case. The story felt so cheesy as well as the dialogues that felt so emotionless. No real sympathy for the characters, you didn't care if they lived or die. And the moral concensus of the story was incredibly generic and unoriginal for a game that held potential at the palm of its hand.
We only got to see what Prototype could've been through the CGI cutscenes (that were so few btw). And even some of the CGI's had horrible pace and didn't really explain things better.
For a game that tries to consider itself Open World game, the city felt too bland and uniteresting. New York has never looked so ugglier and dead. Brain dead enemy AI, brain dead pedestrian AI.
And the cycle repeats again with enemy Helicpoters appearing out of nowhere when you were on Red Alert. Which was one of my many annoyances with Hulk: Ultimate destruction.
But I mainly played it for the gameplay and imo, it delivered in that aspect. But thats just all Protoype did right. Everything else its forgetable.
I'm seeing more of the same patterns in this Trailer, Radical is again showing & placing gameplay ahead of stroy/everything else......which leads me to believe they most likely haven't learned from their mistakes. If Prototype 2 is anything like the 1st in terms of gameplay and moves forward with that, I'll gladly buy it day 1.......but if its anything like the 1st with no improvement on the horrible flaws it had, I'll skip this sh*t and move on and stay with with inFAMOUS 2 and Assassin's Creed 3.
Get your sh** together Radical.
i love how this is a prototype thread and all the fanboys are bringing up infamous.
fanboy wars confirmed? yessir...
I liked Infamous better, but Prototype is a fun game, too. Does this have anything to do with Infamous being a PS3 exclusive?Prototype

But Infamous is exclusive! It automatically makes it better. Didn't you know that? :P

I wasn't a big fan of Alex Mercer as a character either but damn was it fun playing as him. They just need to tighten up the combat balance and nix the tedious boss battles.

He summed it up perfectly. But thats just what I disliked from Prototype the most.
It doesn't have staying power. And got old fast. And when the game ends, it leaves so much to be desired.
You don't get any of that with inFAMOUS. You get the whole package at is should be, delivered to you with quality and love. A subective matter me suppose :P

I played Prototype on the PC and god everything was só bland. I didn't finish the game but I got around destroying hives to spend on powerups, thinking the game would get more interesting with more powers...but nope...still destroying helicopters, throwing tanks and slashing mutants...within a city ever so bland and with an uninspired design. Infiltrating a military basis for more DNA was kinda cool and the whole concept of being able to shapeshift into anything was interesting. Too bad everything else about the game was boring. I think I got to a mission in which a certain doctor asked me to bring corpses or something.I played Prototype on the PC and god everything was só bland. So, in other words, its your opinion that Prototype doesn't hold a candle to Infamous. Perhaps in the future you should preface these kinds of comments with "I think," or "IMO" to avoid confusion.
