Most do actually. BUT, occasionally a mod is great, and due to the sheer number of them, that's actually quite a lot. Some games are just built for them too. To say 'mods suck' is really kind of losing sight of the scale of them.

The best mod for Battlefield 2. I can't wait till they port over to Arma 2.

because obviously free stuff that at times turn out great ( see Stalker complete, project reality for BF2, starwars mod for sins and others ) is a bad think and instead we should be paying for overpriced DLC adamosmaki

On topic: I haven't played Battlefield 2 for ages. Maybe I'll find the time to reinstall it at some point, where I'll give this a go.

Pretty much my thinking. If we hated mods for all the garbage that was released, by that same logic, wouldn't we dislike gaming in generall as well? Seems odd.

The amount of content PR has at this point is just borderline absurd.

Game has never not worked for me. I don't like vanilla BF2 because the gameplay is broken, but the game itself works fine.

PR walks so far off the beaten path of first person shooters. The experience is something you will never get with an arcade shooter like COD.

Oh dude for sure this mod has only been going strong with a great community (that has been constantly increasing from day 1) for about 2 years, but in 2 weeks from now it should be dead. LOL.

Enjoy. I suggest some people watch this before they pass judgment on gameplay being anything like CoD or BF2. Note that it's just a small part of gameplay, still tons more to see with A LOT more maps and vehicles.

yes because a mod that has been popular for 3 years is suddenly going to die in 2 weeks after an update.

Not completely realistic because it has to deal with engine limitations, but it creates large scale team-based gameplay better than any other game I've played, even in pub matches.

I hate mountains is a custom campaign for L4D and it is actually better than half of Valve's official maps.

Also the community maps for TF2 are actually superior to Valve's maps.

Lets not forget about graphics enhancments...

I think people are mistaking PR to just be some random mod. Most people who have seen firsthand what PR has to offer consider it almost a completely seperate game from BF2. It really is that much different in terms of gameplay. There's so much that goes into that mod it's insane. The total size of the download for mod by itself is nearly 4GBs. That's sheer content.

I played project reality, amazing because people used mics in game, hated it because on one map, sum jerk was in a heli and kept attack our spawn and we couldnt get far enough away to jump on the AA guns to shot it down

I generally favor consoles (as I don't have a fantastic PC and I'm not super savvy anyway), but this kind of stuff makes me seriously jealous.
