Portal 2 boasts 'complete' Move support on PS3

Valve has declared that Portal 2 on PS3 will feature "complete" PlayStation Move support as part of an apology for its past lack of PS3 support. I think I'd have preferredLeft 4 Dead but hey, it's better than nothing, right?

"We made a mistake back then and gave the Orange Box console versions to an external team," explains Valve's Chet Faliszek. "They did a good job, but didn't quite achieve the same quality level that we have at Valve. Now everything happens in-house, we created a special console department just for that.

"So the move to the PlayStation 3 comes late -- we're sorry for that. As a small compensation we have PS3-exclusive cloud saving, a free code for PC and complete PlayStation Move support. Look at it as compensation for Left 4 Dead.

"Move is also a completely new experience for us, thus the system isn't fully integrated yet."

It seems that the PS3 version is definitely worth picking up, perhaps over the Xbox 360 version. Hell, the free PC code makes it sound like the sweetest deal of all the formats. Still, we'll have to see if the general population feels the same way -- speaking of which, what version are you plugging to get?

Interesting. And if Valve really wants to make up for The Orange Box release a patch for the people like me who still play it.

Nobody needs an awful game like left for dead, played it on PC.. the game is pure awful!..on topic great to see them adding mroe support. dosent it also have Cloud as well?

I'm guessing they won't do it yet because of how they are pushing cross-platform gameplay. It's probably not because they can't do it, but rather that they want their cross-platform standard to stick. Should a Left 4 Dead 3 ever come out, I'm sure it would be on the PS3 as well.

This would be an interesting game to play with Move, that's for sure. That said, I'll stick with the DS3.

Even the PC version is offering up motion controls.

There's going to be a special version that will come with Razer's new motion controller for the PC. IT's been called "like the move, only better". No calibration needed, 1:1 movement ration (or something like it). It will also include extra levels that feature specific motion controller related puzzles.

Might give it a shot on the PC depending on the reviews, otherwise the standard version on PC shall satisfy.

I am still surprised that call of duty, crysis, dead space, and the likes haven't got move support. Just tack on that stuff

Valve is really trying to make amends though with what they're doing with Portal 2.

if done well, move support may give ps3 owners online advantage over the pc gamers...interesting

After spending some time using Move with KZ3 I was ready to trade in my Move at Gamestop, but I guess I'll hold off until Portal 2 comes out. I've been really underwhelmed with Move so far, maybe the good folks at Valve can give me a reason not to regret buying it.getyeryayasout

if i where you i would still hold on too it for a little while, im planing on getting move myself if a good game releases, and portal sounds good enough.

Who knows Valve might do the same for move with portal, that Retro studios did with the wiimote with Metroid Prime trilogy

Portal 2 would be a great experience with Move. I'm starting to consider getting one
