Pokemon Go Loses More Than 15 Million Daily Users in a Month

The Pokemon Go phenomenon has started to dissipate, as the augmented-reality game has already lost more than 15 million daily users since this time last month, according to graphs from Axiom Capital Management that were published by Bloomberg. The chart only goes until August 18, so the number of daily active users could be even lower now.

Additionally, the charts, which source mobile research company Apptopia, show Pokemon Go engagement has decreased by more than 50 percent. And after a huge spike, "augmented reality" has been searched for far less on Google since Pokemon Go's initial launch, though it's still more popular than before its release.

Good. This game turned out to be a huge gimmick(not that I was expecting better) but they just killed the game by making it way too repetitive. Can't blame them, it was just a way to make microtransactions more appealing. Never felt like catching 100 Magikarp to get a Gyarados. They need to come up with something to spark interest and quick. The game just feels like a chore after hitting a certain level and encountering your 1 billionth Rattata.

That's great news! Then there will be more Pokemon rpg's! What a relief! ?

Not surprising given they've done nothing to keep the numbers there, and taken away things that kept some people playing

There's still over 30 milion users per day using it. All that happened is that the fad hunters pretty much tried it as a fad and stopped. There's still millions of people using this game the world over.

Not surprising considering what Niantic are doing to the game.

With the constant patches taking away stuff or making shit harder to catch like a damn Pidgey, yea I can see Go crashing hard.

Isn't that like normal in the mobile world? Games jump to the top for a few months then disappear and something new comes.

@k--m--k: Pretty much, except they usually drop way worst, Pokemon GO is a 1 in a million. She defies the odds.

There just isn't much to do in the game. Honestly I still don't know how I made it to level 21, but yeah I haven't touched the game in a while.

@da_illest101: Thats how i feel, theres no way theyre keeping this many people playing. The game is good, but its not that good.

Not surprised, every "update" to the game actually ended up downgrading it massively, with Pokemon been much harder to catch, not showing up as often and completely removing the radar instead of attempting to fix it. That, along with them closing all the apps/websites that made the game playable, and it's really not surprising that people have left.

Hey pro "Nintendo should be third party" posters? You SURE there's still interest after both this and Miitomo tanked in users?

Between Sun and Moon and NX, people might finally get the Pokemon RPG experience that they expect on consoles.

Good. Although I did enjoy hearing stories of people waling into trees.

Niantic is paying a steep price for awful communication and constantly downgrading their own game.

The app is bad when you get down to it. Its fun with friends, but super basic and unbalanced when you break it down
