Poll Platformer of the year (34 votes)

Super Mario 3D World 59%
Rayman Legends 21%
Ratchet and Clank into the Nexus 3%
Tearaway 9%
Puppeteer 9%
other 0%

Well it would appear that Gamespot isn't doing genre specific awards this year so I thought I'd make a poll for my favourite genre. It was a good year for platformers.

I own Super Mario 3D World, Puppeteer, Ratchet and Clank and Rayman Legends, haven't got the chance to play any of those yet lol

I've only played Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D (and a lot of older platformers) and that one was great.

If Rayman didn't get gimped by Murphy, it might have had a shot. :(

Easily Puppeteer! that game was truly unlike any other game that gets you addicted from start to end.. simply GOTY materials.

slightly after that comes Ratchet and Clank: Into nexus... i put a lot of hours into that game

I've personally played Super Mario 3D World, Rayman Legends, and Puppteer

Super Mario 3D World is absolutely superb. It's really creative and the level design is tight and challenging to boot. It's probably the best 3D platformer ever made.

Rayman Legends also contains a great deal of creativity and variety in the level design and the platforming mechanics are really smooth and quick. Having new challenges every day also keeps the game interesting long after you've collected everything in the non-online portion.

Puppeteer has a lot of creativity and style, but the platforming mechanics are sloppy and the level design is a little all over the place and random. While the presentation is charming, the core gameplay was a big let down. The great visuals and smart presentation weren't enough to mask this platformer's many shortcomings.

I personally find Tearaway more charming then Puppeteer. If it's not SM3D, Tearaway is my clear second choice.

I've unfortunately yet to play most of these. Just Rayman, which is excellent. But I think Mario has this one.

I believe most of SW would agree that Knack is the best.

I played Rayman Legends out of that group. Game was really good. Still have to get around to 3D World. Would like to try Tearaway, but haha buying a vita. The other 2 look meh from what I've seen of the game so pass.

Super Mario 3D World, it's just awesome.

Raymen Legens was also very good though.

Tearaway already won Vita goty, was stuck between that and Puppeteer... so definitely Puppeteer. That game was epic, and really shows how far behind Mario has fallen from being creative.
