Tbh there's more on the PS3 for kids i reckon, LBP is good and my nephews love playing Ratchet and Clank whenever they're round. They're good games for people of all ages. Gears of War, Halo and Cod are like crack to 13 year olds so given some thought he might actually be right.

Yeah I heard this in his videol, pretty dumb if you ask me, considering PS3 has tons of hardcore unique exclusives.

And on top of that a lot of PS3 exclusive platformers (R&C & LiitleBigPlanet) are pretty hardcore and kids would not be able to beat them. they can pick up and play them but most wont be able to beat them.

As far as I can tell PS3 has much more Hardcore games. I think Patcher is just a Halo & Gears Of War Fanboy for Xbox. Patcher is obviously basing Hardcore off of FPS and TPS Shooter popularity. I guess since both franchises sell better he thinks Xbox 360 is more hardcore than PS3. What a joke lol.

I would say that the PS3 is the overall best choice for a family. It looks good in the livingroom, has a cleaner and grown up look to XMB which you can change to look more childish if you want to, it has BD, it has been able to stream stuff from a media server since it launched and has been good at it too, and it has a varied games library. 

What is core gamers anyways? If he means talking shite on XBL while playing BF or COD, yeah sure, more people is probably doing that on the X360.

a lot of PS3 exclusives are rated R16 or higher, God of War even has sex scenes, both consoles get the same multiplatform games. I cant see any reason why the PS3 would be recomended for a 9 year old.

Probably because you don't exactly have to be a prophet to assume the new COD game is going to sell well. Especially back then, when MW2 would have been the new one.

Unlike some of the posters in this thread, I watched the video.  Pachter was really saying that the Playstation consoles are more 'family friendly' with a better variety of games aimed at a younger audience.  With this I have to agree.  When I originally bought the first Xbox, it was very much targeted at a more mature audience.  My children played mostly on the PS2 because there was a good library of games suitable for their age group.  Afew 'family friendly' games did show up on the Xbox, and we got those eventually.

With the Xbox 360, there was the same problem during and after launch - only a very small number of titles were suitable for the age group of my children, and most of the games were targeted at a mature audience.  Obviously things improved over time, but it took a while.

So I agree with Pachter on this one - though I will say the title of this thread is misleading.
