technically no it isn't first off I'm betting there will still be games made for the ps2 for years yet and there is still another burnout game due out on the ps2 so there is still a lot of life left in the ps2 yet.

Yes, it is. I don't mean it's the last game the PS2 will ever have...I'm saying that it's the last game on it that I'm going to play before I go straight to Xbox 360 only. I'm actually only playing my 360 now. Once that game comes out and I'm done, it's official. There's just no reason to play a PS2 if you have an Xbox 360. Aside from God of War 2.

I can see gamespot giving this game a lot of heat and finding any excuse to throw it in the 8.6-8.9 region, not because they are biased, but because they hate sequels. As for IGN, they have a man-crush on Kratos so they will probably overate it. I hope it hits AAA and im putting my money on the region of 8.8-9.3 with my bet at 9.1...but If I were to rate it, I would give this game 9.6+ :D but then again...im not objective...

You bring up a good point - Gamespot is harder on sequels than most places.

It does the original God of War in every way, even if only by a tiny bit as the first was so good to begin with. It's a evolutionary step rather than a revolutionary leap, but it has basically perfected the formula that the original set up. If you own a PlayStation 2 (or PS3) and don't mind excessive amounts of blood, you absolutely must play this game. If you don't own a PS2, find someone who does and sit yourself down in front of their TV for 12 or so hours as you'll otherwise be missing out on one of gaming's most intense and engaging experiences available. GOTY 2007 CONFIRMED!?!??!? I cant wait to play it on my PS3.
