FALLOUT 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>OBLIVION
i liked oblivion but LOVING fallout 3
Daggerfall > Fallout 3 > Morrowind > Oblivion
And none of those games are bad in the least.

I agree with this post, can't get enough Daggerfall.
Fallout 3 is a good game, but it has huge flaws. The bad dialogue, repetative combat and glitches are among the most irritating. Still much better than Oblivion, though.

I would switch Fallout and Oblivion on this list.
Morrowind was the best game Bethesda ever made.efrucht
meh. morrowind was okay. i personally found it way way way too easy. the magic and herb system was far too easy to exploit (i.e. infinite flying / floating, etc) which made the game seem like it was designed for kids (in terms of the difficulty level).
i did like it, but it was pretty unpolished and sloppy. even after all the patches.

That's about right.
I mean, I didn't hate Oblivion, but Fallout 3 is better in viritually every way.

are you serious? have you played Daggerfall or are you just thinking the oldest in TES is good? it had the worst story, was broken completely at launch.... i played all when they came out and daggerfall was neat - but the massive randomly generated land was incredibly dull and uninspired and the broken main quest line that required a mail-in for a patch disk was just ridiculous.
i think the gameplay and exploration in oblivion is better, with the forests and rivers and lakes and stuff. it has a better atmosphere. but fallout 3 has a WAY better story IMO, especially the intro has a great story. and also the WOW effect is bigger in fallout 3 from leaving the vault and seeing the vast wasteland, than in oblivion leaving the dungeon and seeing the lake and the forest.so i dunno, they're just different. it's based on personal preference.

if i want to explore forests and streams and lakes i'll drive a couple of hours north.
exploring post-apocalyptic wastelands is something i can't do anywhere - except for chernobyl i guess, but it's a rather boring backdrop ;).
i think the real preferences come down to this: do you like elves and magic and wielding a sword? or do you like something a bit more gritty and tactile.
i personally am sick to hell of magic and elves and fairies and fantasy worlds. i think a perfect game would be TES: Fallout to the Past - where our vault dwelling hero stumbles upon a trans-dimensional portal and gets to slaughter all the elves and unicorns in Cyrodil with mini-nukes and a full arsenal of other lovely post-apoc weapons :D
It's certainly got that oblivion feel about it with the controls and map and stuff. The graphics are a lot better too.
As for which is better is hard to tell. How do you compare fantasy and sci-fi? They are both great but different games.
Fallout 3 is better than Oblivion in almost every way IMO. It feels like Bethesda has taken the best bits from Fallouts 1 & 2 and combined them with the best bits from Oblivion to make one perfect union. I just find the Fallout universe so much more compelling than that of the Elder Scrolls universe, which is just a somewhat bland generic fantasy world that has been done countless times before.

amen to that. i'm so sick of medieval fantasy worlds... as much as i love TES series it's just getting really boring.
i feel the other way...
i hated oblivion, was an absolute borefest.
i'm enjoying fallout 3 so far though. the only main problem i have with it is the combat is terribly implemented. sure, for fighting random stray dogs it works. but for fighting big groups of actually challenging enemies with no support, it's absolutely terrible. it's so impossible to do anything fast in game.
there is no reload button, there is no easy switch weapons button(yes i know there are hotkeys, but unlike other games which have a similar hotkey system, it doesn't pause the game while you're switching your weapon, and as you can't see which weapons you're selecting in the hotkeys, they become even more useless)
take these two things combined with the fact that you have very little ammo and that you have to take out your pip-boy to do EVERYTHING and combat becomes a nuisance.
i really like the game, but the combat is very sketchy. it's impossible for me to fight lots of enemies fast at the same time as i could normally do in mass effect, halo, etc.
[QUOTE="malikmmm"]any rpg > oblivion > or = fallout 3.... thats my opinion so dont get mad at me :lol:3picuri3
hard to get mad at blanket statements. i think most people will just laugh :P
system war board is all about gaining attention heck i gained ur attention by writing my post :p , maybe i sould delete my post before some angry fanboy comes knocking on my door

it's much more than that though.
Fallout 3 has a far superior levelling system, both player leveling-up and enemy leveling.... and that's a cornerstone of a good RPG.

i think you've really misunderstood what system wars is all about. this isn't a place to turn to to get attention - if anything people that treat it like that are often some of the least appreciated members (account suicides, disruptive posts, all caps, etc.).
nobody will get angry at someone that says all rpg games are better than oblivion or fallout 3 - nobody will take it seriously because it's such an outlandish and silly thing to say. there are plenty of terrible rpgs out there that are undisputably worse than oblivion and fallout 3.
Oblivion is garbage. So if this is true then Fall Out 3 must really suck. -Master_St3ve-
That's some great logic you've got there. Why don't you, ya know, play the game before commenting? But hey, this is System Wars, where playing a game is never necessary to determine it's quality

I'm just saying that it can't be good if Oblivion is better.
