With PlayStation TV’s launch right around the corner on October 14, I’m pleased to confirm that nearly 700 games will be available in the U.S. and Canada to play on PS TV on Day One, including established, popular franchises like Killzone: Mercenary, cult hits like Persona 4 Golden, and classics like Metal Gear Solid. In addition, I’m pleased to announce that Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom from Little Orbit will also be available in November for PS TV (as well as PS Vita). Our library will continue to expand, with other fan favorites like Minecraft and more. We’re proud to bring such a broad array of content from multiple PlayStation platforms to PS TV, a small console at a great value.

On October 14, you can pick up a PS TV starting at $99.99 (MSRP) for the standalone system, or $139.99 (MSRP) for the bundle that includes a Wireless Controller (DUALSHOCK 3), 8GB memory card, and The LEGO Movie Videogame. For a limited time, you can find an exclusive PS TV bundle at Walmart, which comes with everything in the PS TV bundle plus Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, also for $139.99 (MSRP).

PS TV has a large and diverse lineup of games for players of all types, including:

  • Rayman Origins
  • Persona 4 Golden
  • God of War Collection
  • Killzone: Mercenary
  • FINAL FANTASY X / X-2 HD Remaster
  • Dragon’s Crown
  • Spelunky
  • FINAL FANTASY TACTICS: WAR OF THE LIONS
  • Metal Gear Solid
  • Patapon
  • Twisted Metal
  • Borderlands 2
  • Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom

PS TV plays select content from PlayStation systems past and present, including:

  • PlayStation Vita – PS TV plays select titles from PS Vita, which can either be downloaded to the device or inserted directly into the system using a PS Vita card.
  • PlayStation Classics – Download classic games from PS One and PlayStation Portable, like Wipeout and Metal Gear Solid.
  • PlayStation 3 – Our game streaming service PS Now is coming to PS TV, which will let you play many PS3 games on the device over the Internet*.
  • PlayStation 4 – If you’re a PS4 owner, use Remote Play to stream a remote play enabled PS4 game from your console to a PS TV over a wired internet connection. If the living room is tied up, just use Remote Play to send your PS4 game up to the bedroom and keep playing on PS TV.

*PS Now service may not be available in all areas. For details, see http://us.playstation.com/playstationnow

You can find more information on the games available for PS TV here: The list will continue to grow as our library expands, so stay tuned for more.

PlayStation TV may be a small platform, but it’s got a big PlayStation heart. We hope you get a chance to experience it when it launches in North America on October 14

These games include a selection of PS Vita games, PSP games, PS Mini games, and PSOne games.

That said, the PSTV definitely has some value to me as a Remote Play PS4 extender, and also because it finally offers a legitimate way to play Persona 4 Golden on TV.

The Vita TV outputs a 720p signal. The Vita native res is 540p, so it should scale to 720p just fine. Not all Vita games are native res, so some will look better than others I guess. Still it be a lot better if the Vita TV supported all Vita games, too many of the Vita exclusives games are missing. Using the actual vita as a controller should be an option, but its not.

ISP's are going to despise this device.

That said, lol more games than PS4, for a quarter of the price.

This is neat, but... I dont want another subscriptions... there isnt any PS1 games i care to play, there are only like 3 PSP games I barely would like to play, and there arent any VITA games I care to play (plus most VITA games are coming to PS4 anyways).

Sure its awesome to have that library of dead systems, but the PS2 is still missing, and PSNow for PS3 and PS4 games is a too expensive service with terrible rent periods.

Its an awsome Idea and a thing that should happen (PSTV is a great concept and should exist), but there are too many things missing and not that much of a convenience if you already own a PS3 and a PS4.

im sure more games will get added down the line. and yeah, i dont understand why we cant just use the actual vita as a controller option (along with the ps4 controller) that way we can play games that use the touch screen/ rear touch pad controls.

@lundy86_4: I might've exaggerated a bit haha. I don't see the appeal in a console that plays the same games as a handheld. I like handheld gaming on the go and for an hdtv experience I'd rather have something built from the ground up for it. But I mean if people like it then that's cool I ain't ever gonna argue with their tastes, haha.

They should built this into bravia, xperia, etc. and take over once and for all.

Once they launch a few sattelite, no need to buy consoles anymore they can be built into the housing market, and game on the go anywhere, anytime.

The Playstation lifestyle.

So wait..... I can only stream from the PS4 to the PS TV over a wired connection? I just moved my router to the basement and re ran cables so the consoles and PC could be wired down there. Now I have to find a way to wire the PS TV upstairs too?

This sounds strange since I'm able to use the remote play feature on the Vita all over the house. No issues.

wakka wakka!
