Playing a game for the first time is such a great feeling and although numerous playthroughs are still fun over the years knowing what's going happen doesn't quite have the same impact. So is there a game that you thoroughly enjoyed and wish could play again like a brand new experience? Well which title and why?

maybe the entire concept of open world games and then replay gta3.

the whole "living" city thing was pretty amazing back in the day and now open world has just been done to death and old hat.

Would be Zelda Wind Waker, a game like Super Metroid I can replay often and have a great experience, Wind Waker is longer I would need to start fresh.

Probably Halo 1 on the XBox, and I'm a PC gamer.. That game was just so, so epic in so many ways. I've never played through another campaign so many times in my life, and the memories of multiplayer Halo parties will be treasured always...

Mass Effect 2. By the time the credits rolled, I was in awe, and after they finished, I hit the New Game button instantly.

Tough choice between Final Fantasy 7 and Okami. Final Fantasy 7's plot and soundtrack just blew me away, I would love to experience the amazing world again. As for Okami; I don't actually think I would choose that. It was just such an incredible and beautiful adventure and as the credits rolled my eyes got all watery. I wish Okami could last forever :(

Two of the games that instantly popped into my mind when I saw the thread title have already been mentioned, Metroid Prime and Wind Waker.

In all seriousness, probably red dead redemption. If you undid the games I loved in my childhood, I wouldn't enjoy them the same. Most of the games this gen have had sequels similar so I wouldn't get the wow factor. RDR was like nothing I'd played before and really appealed to the spaghetti western lover in me.

I guess I'd choose a game where the main satisfaction comes from learning and mastering the mechanics.

The only recent game in memory like that is Dark Souls. So I choose that.

Nothing I played before I was about 15. My adult cynicism does no game any favors, with the exception of satires like GTA.

Final Fantasy VI

I got to watch a friend experience this for the first time and I wished I could be in his shoes. I only slightly remember sitting in awe at the mass amounts of superb storytelling as a little girl and unfortunately I don't remember too much of my FF6 experience, only that it was truly a masterpiece of storytelling.

I would want nothing more to experience that story once more with a fresh state of mind but at the same time I'd be afraid that my brain (almost two decades more mature) would not see it as I had seen it oh-so long ago.

After much thought I decided on Shadow of the Colossus.

The game felt like an other worldly experience on my first playthrough. So weird and wonderful and emotional all at the same time. Seeing a Colossi for the first time is a highlight of my gaming life.

Braid. Can't really play through it again and truly appreciate the story. Also, knowing the puzzles makes it less fun as well.

World of Warcraft... Oh I remember the days where I was level 15 and getting lost in the endless forests of Teldrassil... I wish I could go back to those days where the game was actually fun.

Demon's Souls for sure. I was so f*cking terrified in the beginning, in fact I even resented buying it for a bit until I played it (because everyone said it was so crushingly difficult) it turned out to be the best game I had ever played. And now it seems like I can't even play the game without getting instantly bored, I've completely burned it out. I'd love to just start over again and have that wonderful feeling of novelty and... hardcore'ness.

Truely the gem of this generation, but I can still play that game over again

My memory wipe game would be MGS2.
