.. and you won't be able to ever play first party games from the other two companies. (please read the note below to understand what's 1st party means)

Which company's first party games, to your personal preference, would be the wisest choice to pick?

Note: Remember we're talking only 1st party games (i.e. you could still play 3rd party exclusives published by the other two companies. E.g. Gears does NOT count as 1st party).

That's a big no-brainer. Microsoft has an almost non-existent first party, Sony's is hit-and-miss and Nintendo is hit-all-the-time. So obviously Nintendo.

Why is sony all capitalized?

Anywho, the only first party game I really care about from Nintendo anymore is Zelda. And MS, well...lol

So Sony.

Considering I find most shooters boring as hell, and prefer driving to racing, yes, I'd give all of those IP's up for a single Mario platformer or Zelda adventure. And this is "choose only one first party" so combining the two against Nintendo doesn't count, nor is it fair.

I would say Nintendo all the way, otherwise I would be forced to play a lot of the same game with the exception of uncharted. At least Nintendo can have multiple franchises that don't dissapoint and aren't all shooters or racing games (Halo, Killzone, Forza, GT5)

Nintendo Like someone said above, Sony is hit and miss a lot of times. They do have good games but a lot of them don't interest me so much. Except Wipeout =D Microsoft, has an amazing IP catalog. Too bad they aren't using it >.>

Sony, without a second thought at this point. MS's first party is limited in talent and scope, and I can't remember playing a Nintendo title after the 64 that I liked.

I'm not a huge fan of Nintendo, so it's basically Halo and Forza vs Killzone, Uncharted, God of War, Gran Turismo, The Ico games, and InFamous and whatever else SuckerPunch comes up with.... I'd say that's a pretty damn easy choice.

Little big planet 1&2(media molecule is owned by Sony now), infamous 1&2 (sucker punch is owned by Sony now), uncharted 1-3, ratchet (Sony owns ip), jak n daxter, sly Cooper, legend of dragoon(old but one of greatest 1st party jrpgs), ico, shadow of collosous, gown1-3 + ghost and chains, patapon, wipeout, siren blood curse, etc... Those games aren't fps or sim racers.

If I was asked this question 6~8 years ago I would say Sony without even thinking but now at this generation I gage Sony first party new direction with western shooting games and for Ms I only like forza series so I will go with nintendo though i'm not a fan of most Mario games and Zelda games but at least nintendo is making some games which appeals to me like xenoblade, the last story, donkey Kong return and Kirby epic yarn.

Well, what I posted was sarcasm. I admit I prefer Nintendo IPs over Sony's but it is annoying they only release Mario, Zelda or Metroid and forget about other big franchises like Pikmin, F-Zero and those ones.

They even admitted if the Star Fox for Nintendo 3DS fails they will say goodbye to the franchise. I'm not a fan of Star Fox but that's is really annoying. What do they plan for the future? Continue releasing Wii SportsU, Wii FitU, Mario Kart, Mario Golf, Mario Baseball, Mario Strikers, Zelda, Doctor Mario, Mario Party, Olympic Mario, Metroid, and more Marios?

That game really was awesome. All they'd have to do though is apply everything they did with F-Zero GX but give it better graphics (can you imagine F-Zero with HD graphics?), more characters, a stroy mode for everyone, and of course online play. That would easily be an AAA game.

Devs should know when to stop milking.
So i choose sony.
If you look at it you ll see that Sony has nt one franchise , in each gen sony changes, makes progress, evolves.

there was one mgs in ps3 3 years ago and one twisted metal ehich still has been published. But most important Sony made NEW franchises. whereas nintendo core franshises are STILL mario and zelda and metroid. Same as NES era. i am not saying that these are not great games. just a fact. i am sure that wiiu will still offer the SAME 3 games again. and enough about ocarina of time. release of re re release.

You want to explain to me how super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are "the same game"? What about Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword? Your post is so full of factual error its laughable.

With every new iteration Nintendo's games change significantly. Sony has released essentially the same game in each respective IP for every iteration this gen... only with some improvements. New IP that doesn't bring anything new to the table besides bigger budgets and greater polish isn't "change" at all... in fact, I'd say its only hurting the gaming industry. What exactly is different about Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Killzone 3, Resistance, Resistance 2, Resistance 3, LBP, LBP2, etc.? All these games do stuff that has done before, only with a new coat of paint to cover up the fact it isn't new.

Nintendo pushes the genres they work in forwards, and with entries like SMG2, they push it so far into the future, everyone will have trouble catching up.

I actually the Wii-U won't feature as many Mario games next gen, I believe F-Zero, Pikmin, Starfox will get more attention since the Wii-U is supposed to be Nintendo's attempt at recapturing the core crowd.

Twilight Princess and SMG2 brought significant changes? You mean wolf-y and Yoshi? Yeah, big changes there... And how exactly did Spirit Tracks change from Phantom Hourglass? Sure, it was even more boring and tedious but that's not a significant change. And then you have the Super Smash Bros games. A poorly thought out level editor and uninteresting story mode is suppose to make Brawl not feel like more of the same? Because it didn't. There's also Fire Emblem - there's close to no change unless you count the lack of multiplayer in the newer titles and the terrible support options. Mario Kart Wii? Motion controls didn't make it feel fresh whatsoever.
