Most stupid Gamespot review this gen?

Don't talk about Super Mario 64/MGS 1/MGS 3, we already knew that's three of the worst review I ever read

And after I read GS review for Mass Effect 2, I fell it again!

So comic + upgrade engine + better visual + all DLC < minor glitch.....this is wow, just stupid...

Just as stupid as when GS reviewed ODST 9.0

Braid and GTA EFLC released a year later and it scored the same with 360 version, and ME 2 bring all the DLC, so why they deduct the points? MGS 4 is the worst review? I think it's the best review GS ever wrote, that game really deserves 10, unlike GTA IV and SMG 2

That 'thing' was more of a movie than a game :lol:

At least SMG2 could be argued it should be 9.5, and same with GTA4. MGS was AA quality when looking at what makes a GAME, and not a MOVIE. :lol:

I don't think GTA IV deserved a 10, but it wasn't a stupid review. Gamespot's reviews are pretty consistent, even if they differ from my opinions every now and then.

Stupid isn't the right word, but how the Resistance games were so well recieved (and not just by GS) is baffling. The term 'generic' is so over-used here it's lost all meaning, but if there was ever a franchise that deserved the title...

Worst overall? Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening and Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition

The former was marked down for being "too hard" (which it was, despite being a fantastic action game). The latter was marked down for not being "as challenging as the original" (despite the original styIe of Dante's Awakening being there for anyone to access and Vergil on Dante Must Die is the most insane thing the series has ever seen... which suggests Kasavin barely spent any time with the game).

TESIV: Oblivion and Gears of War both getting 9.6 wasn't too impressive either. And Battlefield 2's 9.3 despite being Mr. Bug Extraordinaire was also irritating.

It´s not as good as i expected but far from a 6.5 game.

Probably Ratchet & Clank Future Tools of Destruction. Hmmmm Yup, that one.

Reviewing reviews is an incredibly pointless exercise. If you've already formed such a strong opinion about a game that you don't need a review, why are you reading it in the first place?

Especially the part that talked about the AI was a travesty, and the reviewer should've been very literally kicked out of the gaming business.

Probably both MGS4 and GTA4. I'm not sure how a barrage of convoluted cut scenes and a boring experience deserve those scores, but whatever.

Sounds about right.

GTA4 clearly isn't 10 material and Tools of Destruction is alot higher than a 7.5

Halo:Wars, ODST, Ratchet and Clank, and from what I hear ME2 (Ps3).

All I see is "hurp hrup mah Sonies gamez didn't score enough"

don't listen to the hater's. Metal gear solid 4 was an incredible game, and a 9.5 in my book.

EDIT: but I would say a 10 is stretching it. But, a 9.5 is incredible still.
