Roughly 35% of PS gamers finished the previous entry. It's not surprising to see the numbers dip for it's sequel. Going multiplat seems like a no-brainer for Square.

Edit: I just read the rest of the article I posted earlier and it confirms that core are counted. So in the end SoT must have near 10 million in sales, because there was only like 25 million GP subscribers before they counted core, interesting.

Seems like your have memory lost of calling the game a flop. I can understand the need for that memory loss with the current state of PS gamers apparently charting the game. The GREAT Sea of Thieves from 6 years ago is the third most downloaded game on your plastic box. Keep in mine, your PS buddies paid for the game.🤭

Also SoT isn't in the core package of games to download, so none of the 40 million players came from that 10 million or so "former" Gold members (I still have gold and don't consider myself a GP subscriber) so SoT sales numbers must be around 10 million if we go by the math.
