I personally enjoyed Oblivion most. Easily over 500-maybe even 1000 + hours put in it in past, recently got Oblivion Deluxe GOTY edition off Steam sale again as I had it previously on DVD and the writers not working anymore. Getting that nostalgia vibe all over again.

Well?

Only tried Skyrim and quit after playing an hour of it. One of the worst games I ever played.

Skyrim was for the mainstream, I guess oblivion started leaning that way, but skyrim was super duper casual. Morrowind is regarded the best by people who truly love RPG.

Morrowind. Oblivion was good too. I honestly didn't finish Skyrim. I wanted to enjoy it more, but it felt very casual to me for some reason when compared to Morrowind.

Skyrim, but only for the mods. The base game is trash.

Skyrim>Morrowind>Oblivion

Skyrim for simply being fun with mods, Morrowind for its depth, but I didn't really like Oblivion. The worst combat in my opinion, not to mention the various lore breeches and typical LOTR fantasy setting.

Oblivion > Skyrim >>>> Morrowind

(the latters gameplay just does not hold up for an ARPG, especially when it gives little to no indication that you're hitting someone without a max stat)

Skyrim was definitely my favourite. Played it on the Xbox 360 and loved it. Also got the Xbox One Special Edition and really enjoy that as well.

Morrowind was probably the best in terms of choice and rpg mechanics but had the worst combat.

Skyrim is at the other end of the spectrum. Best combat but really dumbed down rpg.

Oblivion was the best balance in terms of quests, combat and rpg mechanics. This is why it's my favorite in the series

I'd say I had the most fun with the goofiness of Oblivion.

Skyrim was good, but more of the same and I hated the Dwemer levels.

Tried playing Morrowind for the first time a couple years ago (with the unofficial patch that's supposed to modernize the game), but could not get past the first hour because it just too dated at this point.

Skyrim with mods. The smoothest experience with least amount of quirks and annoyances.

With no mods, Morrowind. Really like the setting, density and role-playing potential. Might just be the best game BGS ever made.

Oblivion has too many distracting quirks, and when you peel away the shiny surface, it's not anywhere near as deep as Morrowind. The Dark Brotherhood questline was ace, though.

For us console gamers, they were among the worst gaming experiences we ever had. These buggy, unplayable games and the word "enjoy" cannot be in the same sentence.

For me, it's Oblivion. I sank so many hours into that during my high school years. The disc cracked from the center-out until it wasn't playable anymore and I had to get a new one. I think that was the first game I bought for more than one platform. When I got a PC capable enough, I bought the GotY edition on there.

The Imperial province (CyrodiII) was actuaIIy meant to be a jungIe in TES Iore.

Instead it was retconned to be a temperate forest for ObIivion. probabIy because they wanted to give the game more mass appeaI.

Morrowind > Oblivion > Skyrim for me.

this is largely due to the time at which I played them - Morrowind was my first RPG and my first open world game, it freaking blew my mind as a 11 year old when I first played it.

Oblivion I was super hyped for, and I was wowed by is graphics at the time. if I'd played it later I doubt i'd have enjoyed it as much but when it came out I loved it and played a ton of it.

by the time Skyrim came along I was more jaded, and I also encountered more bugs with it. I enjoyed some of it but definitely it didn't grab me in the same way as the first two games.

I just started playing Morrowind again a few weeks ago in multiplayer coop with a few buddies. It hasnt aged that well but its still the best in the series IMO.

Never played Morrowind, but i am sure that it was incredible for its time. All the reading sucks, tho. Oblivion was my first open world game, and i remember vividly being absolutely blown away by it. Probably in my top 3 most impressive games (for its time) that i've ever played. Skyrim was a 7.5/10 that was decently enjoyable with mods, but nowhere near a great game.

Skyrim, i tried to get into Oblivion but I couldn’t stand the way the characters awkwardly faced you while they talked, made me want to punch my tv lmao. Skyrim was much better but got tiring with all the repetitive fetch quests and just way too much to do.

Oblivion is my favorite Elder Scrolls game ever made, but Morrowind is right behind it. Skyrim while not a bad game doesn't even hold a candle to the other two modern ES games... so dumbed down and removing the everyman for what is essentially a god? Give me a break. I don't want to be a superhero/god while playing an open world RPG, it just makes things feel less accomplished.

Yup. 100% this for me as well.

Only way I see Elder Scrolls 6 winning me over is an engine and gameplay change. It's not gonna wow me like Morrowind or Oblivion, but it might at least make me interested in it. Will they show me yet another Skyrim, like they did with Fallout 4 and Starfield, I'm out.

Morrowind genuinely feels like it's from a different era, Oblivion was lighter on the RPG side of things but felt very free, never felt like a looming problem with the main quest, literally leave sewers and ignore kvatch and anything related to it, Skyrim felt far more like a "you should be doing this" type game, there were side quests etc certainly but they always felt far more secondary regardless of what character you were playing.

Skyrim with mods however that's a different story and tbh elevate Skyrim beyond any previous titles.

Oblivion is my favorite. Skyrim does a lot of things right, but the world just feels kinda depressing.. I have only played Morrowind on Xbox, and it feels very outdated.

All three games are fantastic, gotta stress that.
