The Tau. Their society is more inclusive, allowing humans to fight for them. It's also more stable.
The Covenant is too regressive. It spurns too easily and is based on exploitation and slavery, not utilitarianism. The Covenant wouldn't be able to sustain a long term war due to it's societal makeup. Just look at how things fell apart in Halo 2.
[QUOTE="Lonelynight"]And if MC can kill so many covenant this guy will pwn their ass

Overkill dude, overkill.
Not to mention what hammerheads and broadsides would do to the covie vehicles...
Sorry? I don't get it. I'm not very bright

I'm saying, the tau army by itself is harsh enough, adding kais to the whole butchery would be uncalled for :p
since the human race could defete then with only one super sodier I think it would be safe to saythe Gue'vesa (Is it bad I didn't have to look that up?) could defete them without the help of the tau themselves.
And yes, the tau being so patheticly weak by 40K standards yet still being abale to destroy the dominant force in the halo universe, really puts how awsomly overpowered 40K is doesn't it.
Oh and the XV 22 is only being used by shadowsun at the monent. In this regard dark crusade is being a lying little bugger. The only shas'o available to the tau forces is in a crysis suit.

Oh and the mass of 40K topics in system wars are really fun. The strange thing is this is th most evenly matched debate yet...

How? There's still people crying overkill....
Well yea, because the other comparisons were included the imperium/tyranids. Thats like 10x overkill :p This is the closest matchup but overkill at the same time.

Woop, someone got my point.
A lot of Warhammer 40K related comparisons on SW lately...... I love it.
While the Covenant are being jerks making enemies the Tau is becoming more and more powerful gaining new allies to fight for the Greater Good. And the races that do make up the Covenant are not as unified as the Tau allies. Grunts and Jackals don't get along. And Brutes and Elites..... well.... yeah.

Dude, you just insulted the Grey Knights. :|
Hold up to the to GK.
Im sure, given enough ammon a single squad of five Gk teminators could rip up the whole covannt fleet.
This is assuming a storm bolter is pretty much equal to a modded rocket launcher. (IE rapid firing)
Tau Empire!
So the covenant are wondering around like idiots( damn grunts), then a Devilfish unloads 3 squads of FW and destroys them all ^_^
Bah..... bloody Grey Knights killed my thread.....aliblabla2007
Its because your thread was seen as a deamon.
You cant blame them really.
WTF?? whats a Tau......
Im gonna go with the covenenant because at least I know who they are....you are talking about the Halo covenant right?

The're both games aren't they? And the Tau have been in multiple video games.
Either way, were more comparion their fiction than their games.

Thats the first part.
I will not go into how much 40K isn't a board game as that isn't the object of this thread.
This is from a purly background standpoint. Can't you see this?
Oh and since 40K is technicly a "game system" it could be argued that it should be factored into system wars :P
Well ive never heard of Warhammer 40000 other than the title...and I know its like dungeons and dragons....thats all I know about it...Tony-Sinclair
The only similarires it shares with D&D is thatthey carry the same social stigma.
D&D is a pen and paper RPG, you need nothing apart from the sourcebooks and a writing tool to to play.
Wargames such a 40K or warmachine take quite a bit more prep than that.
And can look a whole lot more impressive.

sorry my bad
I dunno, actually... Grey Knights still operate under the Space Marine 1000-man chapter, right? I'm wondering if 1000 complete badasses against an entire enemy race in one big fight can really stand a chance. We used to use the Epic 40,000 miniatures to play 40k-ruled games (with inches as centimeters instead). You could get some HUGE battles going on that way.[QUOTE="Lonelynight"][QUOTE="aliblabla2007"]Dude, you just insulted the Grey Knights. :|

P.S. Updated topic. Have fun. :P
