Well its confirmed that Modern Warfare 2 will not have multiplayer trophies or achievements.. Your thoughts? I think it doesnt bother me, Infinity always does a great job at adding so much in game trophies, badges etc for the multiplayer that it doesnt bother me.

What are these good games you speak of because Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 are some of the best games this gen.

Well online achievements are good only when the players earn them instead of making some lame little packt in the pregame lobby area and lose a game for you because they wanted 25 extra GS (Im looking at you halo 3! :x!!!! )
Meh, the only multiplayer trophy/achievement I didn't mind too much was BlazBlue's 200 ranked matches + 150 player matches. Doesn't require wins, just doing those matches count, loved it.

I actually like achievements/trophies like this. You feel like you accomplished something special when all you did was play the game. It makes me quite happy.
I like online trophies/achievements, specifically those that are attained by simply playing the game. Examples: get X total kills (ex: 10,000); play X total matches (ex: 100); reach level X (ex: 50), etc.
Sorry to sound like a noob, but what does the term "boosting people in multiplayer" mean? People stand around and get killed on purpose I see. I remember when I played Halo 3 online, there was a guy who kept trying to encourage people to run over him with a vehicle so they can get the achievement for it. Lol.
I'm quite fond of the idea of not having any trophies/achievements in multiplayer. They carry no purpose as most people end up boosting instead of actually earning it by themselves. I loved playing Killzone 2 online, but having to dedicate yourself to the game for about 3 hours a day 7 days a week to earn the top 1% trophy was ridonculous and something that I didn't have time for. The same goes for a game like Fear 2 it had a great single player campaign but the multiplayer was just above mediocre....the kicker was almost half the achievements/trophies were online! lol There are more games to list that you guys probably know about, but I think you know where I stand.

i think thats the best thing in the WORLD to possible NOT have in the online portion of the games. i absolutely hate achievement farmers while in playing in an online multiplayer, pisses me off to no end. so im extremely happy to hear that, of course its something i had already seen comming since IW isnt known for adding achievements to the multiplayer.

yeah, cause uncharted and itsoverwhelming influencecompletely overshadows the newest pokemon edition :roll:
It's a great move and I hope other devs follow in their footsteps. There should not be any online achievements or trophies because of the buddy system, and no online achievements unless Microsoft makes Live free.
naw i dont really mind achievements. Not drowning all over it. play the games cuz i like it, thats all. Some people spend wayyyyyy too much time getting achievements even for the games they dont like ... ugh.
Multiplayer trophies hurts the online experience by forcing people that's just trying to play the game endure others boosting, and trophies grinders have to spend pointless hours online trying to find people to boost with them.
Good. I hate it when you have to kill X amount of oponnents online in order to get a trophie. I remember a trophie in Resistance 2 where you had to kill 50000 oponnents.
