I was pretty excited when I saw the announcement, then I saw Kinect. Hopefully it's optional. I'm interested to see how it will turn out.

Well, I like minecraft, but I have to say it'd sort of suck without Mods. Not just hating on consoles, because I generally prefer them over PC, but I just don't see the fun of the game if you have to find every resource from the ground and there aren't any cool airplane mods, or portal gun mods, or whatever else it is people come up with.

Who would honestly play this on the 360 over the PC? Computers from the stoneage can run the game, and half of it's longevity comes from mods and custom maps.

Minecraft is a rather popular game with good reason, and I can imagine it having a decent audience for the 360.

And Notch isn't porting the game, it's being outsourced to another studio so this won't affect the progress of the PC version of Minecraft.
