That is how old the game is, 2008. Defense grid came out in 2008, despite it being a port.

I decided to look this up for you, but ultimately it doesn't change the fact Defense Grid released for the first time in 2008 on the PC platform. It later was ported to XBLA.

I already own defense grid on Xbox 360 and PC. One of the most enjoyable experiences of the gen.
