sorry if old, but this surprised me.

every game company can be sued then
there is not one person in a game, that you cant fine some1 that has the same 'likeness'
i probably worded that really bad >_>
[QUOTE="Kaycm117"]looks coincidental, Shephards head is alot wider too, but who knows.jcant
Look at the line in the hair and the elf ears. No way that's a coincidence.
'that line in the hair is a style thing, i know alot of people who have that, laos lots of people have elf ears. They do look similar but honestly i dont think they copied the guys face. They could have made any character and im sure someone on earth would have looked similar.

"Mark Vanderloo (born April 24, 1968 ) is a Dutch supermodel. His likeness is currently being used as the default model for Commander Shepard in the video game Mass Effect for the Xbox 360."

lol end of argument
if people are looking for another example of a VG character using a real person's likness, check this out regarding Bioshock:

beware though, it might be a bit too much for some people
That explains why Shepard's model is so realistic looking. Like in Onimusha Capcom used a Japanese actor for Samanoske Akechi.
Takeshi Kaneshiro Samanosuke Akechi
I think most 3D games that try to be more realistic use human models.
I use to think Virtua Fighter and Tekken characters had an original craft but now when you play these games you can tell they're using a model, especially when some of the characters drastically change in apperance e.g. Vanessa.
Sure the older blocky looking VF and Tekken games were all original but now its not.
OMG NO WAI!!! A video game character beings based off someone famous!? DOWN WITH MASS EFFECT!!!
These games must suck too because they have similar looking characters to someone famous.

They based the model off of him. They didn't google "Really good looking male supermodels" and decided to copy the first model to show up.
I read about this ages ago. I'm surprised that this is news to so many people.

I don't know the entire (WTF!!!) in the titles then all the other people commenting on it like it is something new. I was just trying to make a point that video game characters based off real people have been around a long time.
