Lets be realistic for a second

How is the PS3 going to get mroe support then the Wii when

the hardware sales of the Wii are already doubling the PS3

the development cost of PS3 is way higher then that of the Wii

the Wii is outselling the PS3 in slow seasons while in christmas Nintendo traditionally stronger then MS or Sony

anyone care to tell me how its possible.. `?

Well I have yet to hear a great longlasting 3rd party game coming from the Wii's side. Which is kinda disappointing. I mean, RE4 wiimake.... really? Did they really have to do that? I mean... at least Nights is finally an original 3rd party game (albeit a Saturn game franchise, but still).

You also have difference in the market targets.

So you essentially expected a 600 hardcore console  to outsell a 250 casual console. Congrats are "teh winnar." Casual always wins the bet, but here's the thing. It's all about the long term outcome. The only chance Wii has is if developers decide to put EFFORT (not I capped it so this is important, yes I'm talking to you Nintendo 3rd party) into their games.

When games on the Wii look worse than the gamecube.... we have a problem. It seems like a fast cash-in. I mean I love my Wii (chuckle), but in all seriousness Nintendo needs to find a way to secure a good third party exclusive. 

PS3 has these long-awaited epic third party games.

Nintendo says: Gamers don't like epic games.

Erm... last time I checked God of War was an epic millions selling franchise... so... yea... not buying that.

I'm looking forward to Brawl.. but... you know where are the games? It's about the games. Where's that epic FPS that has that nice quality polish to it? Or that epic RPG you're waiting to long to have? I mean, even 360 has that.

but when you buy a Nintendo console, you're essentially buying it for the Nintendo exclusives.

FFXIII, MGS4, Heavenly Sword, Killzone, are just the cusp of the games that fit most of MY interests. I can't wait to play some games on the wii, but the passing day shows that that console wants to mostly appeal to the person that isn't me.

Well I have this crazy idea that it is because PS sell more units than all the other brands combined, and it would be a surprise that this time they don't end up being first again or at least close to?

Another possibility is that the curent gen of gaming is in its early stages so Wii sales are not guaranteed to keep on as they are now.

Not always. That is the biggest misconception when it comes to the a system like the Wii. They are already behind in the third party quality games and things are going to get real ugly over the next couple of years because all of these major blockbuster games are already in development for other systems but not the Wii.

Developers are either looking for simple cash in games or games that target the Wii's main demographic for the most part and the better quality games (if there are any) are going to take a long time to get made. The Wii is always going to be behind.

Arguing about the quality of future titles for the most part is useless. Who's to say what could happen to any of the future titles coming out for any of the systems. Or what new game could come out and catch everybody by surprise. The only thing we can do is wait and see how the games for all three turn out and what new games are coming.

I can only base this on the game scores that score great and above. The Wii is already lagging and it is going to stay that way for a very long time. We all know what kinds of third party games are coming down the line for the systems. Getting equal third party support (quality wise) is just a sheep's dream at this point.

It will, and then they may port them to the other systems.

I was expecting some realistic views, but all I see is SW fanboys' views. PS3 has actually gain more new IP exclusives than  3rd party exclusive lost. That's being realistic!

There where's Condemned 2, Fallout 3, Kane & Lynch, Half-Life 2 Orange Box, Silent Hill 5, Resident Evil 5, Devil May Cry 4, Ace Combat 6, Virtua Fighter 5, Grand Theft Auto IV, Colin McRae's DiRT, Last Remnant, Alone in the Dark, Unreal Tournament 3 etc etc for the Wii?

Heres the problem the Wii has....Even though its outselling the 360 and PS3....it still wont garner in all the developers since its hardware is so weak in comparison to the other two.  I believe more devs care about High End Graphics, Physics, AI and Large Storage media to play out their dreams in the gaming world.  Wii is still very much so niche.....Last gen hardware with a Motion Controller is still very limiting to developers.  Im sorry but the wiimote alone doesnt push the envelope in gaming more than advanced hardware.

Name a list of them WORTH buying.

My original point still stands. The most sales doesn't always mean the best quality support. I will stand by that. Anyone should recognise that statement as objective.diggyzoom

Actually, yes it does.  The console that sells the most recieves the best library in terms of breadth (variety of genres supported) and depth (multiple games and options within each genre), by any objective measurement. 

I think the Wii will have the worst third party support (quality wise) and that is just my opinion so we will just have to keep an eye on how well these games do.diggyzoom

And now you've retreated to subjectivity.  How well will that hold up if you end up massively outnumbered by people who hold the opinion that Wii has the best third party support?

The devs that really want to move forward technologically will soon toss the gimped HD consoles for a more powerful platform - high end PC.

why would future Wii 3rd party games outsell PS3 games when #1 the PS3 fanbase will expand and #2 the PS3 3rd party titles for the forseeable future look to be 9000x better in terms of quality.  Nintendo has losttouch with 3rd party devs....and its still continuing...unless of course you want to count RE4, Opoona, Dewys Adventure and Manhunt 2 as great 3rd party support :roll:

if that were the case consoles woulda been dead long ago since PC has always been the most powerful....fact of the matter is...games will sell better on the PS3 and 360 compared to the PC in most genres....for the simple facts that most PC gamers strictly play MMO's, FPS's and RTS's,...AND alot of PC gamers just pirate their games.

I agree.  I was just exposing the broken logic of "devs want to move forward, so they'll target 360 and PS3". 

Realistic? Wii sales are purly to the fact it is cheaper. the Xbox 360 will still outsell the Wii and the PS3 will sell more consistantly over time while the Wii just like the Gamecube will have a strong Start But Fizzle from lack of games and variety. and When people see that quality games with great graphics are comming out on both the PS3 and xbox360 the wii will be droped by the wayside. Wii is like tickle me elmo. Great fun to start and then you get sick of it as you go.
