Prime example the map Courtyard on the new Gears 2 map pack looks better then any level of KZ2 and this is an online map. The lighting and snow and textures blend so beautifully on this map. And when you run it almost looks photo realistic it looks so good.

I happen to think it does. It's not a big deal, either way.

well it's personal oppinion, but the consensus here on SW is that KZ2 is graphics king(for consoles, calm down hermits). i also prefer Gears' visuals over KZ2's aswell.

To me, Killzone 2 has the better graphics, but is a little blurry and of course kinda dark, while Gears looks sharper than Killzone.

No comparison, Gears 2 looks like ass unless its underground in a fire lit area. I was never graphically impressed with the game. Bioshock, Uncharted, MGS4, KZ2, and RE5 are miles ahead of Gears 2(which only looks good underground)

the second picture in there shows how bad the shadows really are in killzone 2, the little barrier is in the area with the light and yet theres a shaded spot directly where you can see light hitting it, killzone 2 = terrible real time shadows.

But why are we comparing a 2009 game to a 2008 game? OF COURSE KZ2 is going to look better because it came out later. Other than that, though, I think MGS4 was all-round great graphically. I could hardly see any graphical weaknesses in that game, and the character models were great.

KillZone 2 has WAY better graphics than Gears 2. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either BLIND, or has never played KZ2. Not only that - but KillZone 2 is the better all around game. RM84x

Agreed. I bought a PS3 a couple of months ago because I was fed up with my 360 breaking down on me. I read all the hype about KZ2 and its graphics only to be disappointed knowing gears does look better. Maybe they're tied but I have to give the nod to gears. Mlb 09 the show though, makes me a satisfied customer. I just can't see how anyone who owns both systems & games would think KZ2 looks better.

and for god's sake, bioshock does not have good graphics, it rely's on ATMOSPHERE

Gears of War 2 looks pretty good plus its just doing more, you can play cooperatively, you can have a ghost cam and move around the map, take pictures during the game and upload them onto their website. I think Killzone 2 looks better but Gears of War 2 is just the better critically acclaimed game overall.
