Knowing the PS4 is objectively superior (and I'm only buying a console at some point for 2 games) I need help.

Hey guys so last gen I only had the 360, and right now I have a top of the line PC. It's where I do 99% of my gaming, but during the 360 days I loved my Guitar Hero and Rock Band. I built up an extensive library of DLC songs on the 360 for both series, and made a lot of friends to play in bands, going for full band full combos, etc.

It seems the obvious choice is the Xbone, because I can import all of my Rock Band songs I purchased into RB4, and GH Live has no ties with previous DLC so that one really doesn't matter.

I'm just curious what to do because I mostly game on PC, and can run any game at max, so I'm just asking you guys if say, ~$200 dollars worth of Rock Band DLC is worth going for a weaker console, or should I go with the PS4 with the off chance I get into some of their exclusives?

I'm just not sure, I'm not loyal to either brand I guess the bottom line is...save money on DLC? or get something with possibly new experiences but a big price to repurchase those songs? I didn't own a PS3 last gen, so it'd all be new.

But the real advice here is... you are talking about power of console but fail to realize that the games you want on those consoles wont be affected at all by the power difference. Its a shitty music puzzle game....... why are you worrying about weaker versions and bullshit that doesnt matter at all for the type of game you are buying.

Wat? Lol I have no brand loyalty and your answer helped me none. I could easily forego a console this gen and just play Guitar Hero 3 customs on PC, but I've never missed a console generation from the NES on where I didn't own at least one offered console. I'm just trying to see if the Playstation Exclusives (which I did enjoy on PS1 and PS2) could overshadow a literal 2 to 300 dollar extra charge to get my songs back for Rock Band 4, or if I should save the money from buying songs and just buy another Xbox.

If you think I have "idiotic" loyalty, let me just tell you what I've owned. NES, Genesis, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, Dreamcast, Xbox, Gamecube, Xbox 360, Game Boy, GBA, GBC, DS, DS Lite, 3DS, Wii, Wii U (which I had to sell for a move across country) and then of course my PC's that I've had. I don't have loyalty I just want to know if exclusives which I am more interested in is worth re-buying a shit ton of DLC for.

Xbox One, especially in your situation, also if you had a 360 last generation the chances are you're going to be more at home with what kind of games and experiences to expect.

Also don't forget about 360 backward compatibility which is launching on November 12th, they have about 100 games they're going to launch with and they'll be adding more all the time. To add to that all the 360 games offered from Games with Gold will be added to the backward compatibility straight off. On top of this there's also Windows 10 streaming, so if you're on your computer a lot you can play your Xbox One on it via the Xbox One app.

Why buy console for games you can play on your PC as you say. Few songs here and there doesnt matter.

If you absolutely need a console then get the XB1. There will be no difference between RB and GH on PS4. Also, since you owned a 360 there will be BC. Also, I'm not sure if some even read the OP since they're saying PS4, which wouldn't make sense with your situation. Also, the bone is cheaper. Grab one on Black Friday.

Power doesn't really matter when you already have a kickass PC. I would get the console from which you think they have the coolest exclusives released, and upcoming.

@Wopps: don't worry a lot of people know the PS4 has more powah, and on paper has more games, but Xbox One has the games I actually enjoy playing and most importantly it's where my friends game.

Also Guitar Hero Live is pretty fucking awesome I picked it up on a whim and the GHTV is probably all I'll be playing and the new 6 button layout 3 top 3 bottom is brutal I can easy play regular, advance in lucky if I'm in the 80% range and expert is insane...i will hope that GHTV continues to grow and add more. So far really enjoying the game though, GHTV is a solid 9 for me has songs like Hanger 18, Cowboys from Hell, etc all playing to their original music videos.

If GHTV wasn't there this game is like 7 maybe cause the included tracks are kinda weak for me, but the new layout on the guitar still makes it enjoyable/challenging to play.

just prepare yourself if you want get a xbox one but wisest choices just pray that microsoft will give your needs than other things that really not matter

In this case, get an Xbox One. The power difference doesn't matter for the games you want, and is not enough to compensate for losing all your library of songs and your peripherals.

Why are people so incapable of making decisions? Buy whichever has the games/benefits that you prefer. Simple as.

If you like RB and GH so much why dont you... ya know... start learning actual guitar? For the price you'll give for some gimmicky peripherals you may actually buy a real guitar ya kno? oh, and you can get some real chicks with it as well and not having them laughing at you for playing with a ridiculous toy

ps4 is the answer to all problems.

Pretty much this as the titles you want on PS4/X1 are on PC already.

Rocksmith games can help with this.

Even then the hardware differences between the XboxOne and PS4 are very trivial, to choose one over the other in such a negligent graphical difference is absurd.
