honestly i really dont know why killzone got a bad rating it was a great game great story.

There's barely any info on KZ2 so there's no point to compare it to a completed game. I think Cows are a lot more hyped about Resistance 2 since there's a lot more info revealed for it then there is for K2.

Im wondering if they decide to push KZ2 into an early/mid 2009 release if Resistance 2 is ready to go in time for the holidays of 2008. That way they dont have two games competing against each other in the same genre around the same time period.

Why are people hyping Killzone?

Guerilla's track record has been nothing but mediocre, and they haven't proven anything yet (except, apparently, with Killzone: Liberation which I have yet to play, but even that isn't an FPS so it's not really proving anything). Bungie had a fairly good track record with some highly-reviewed games prior to the release of Halo 3, whereas Guerilla has Killzone, Shellshock (and we all know how great that turned out), and a bunch of low-budget Gameboy titles.

I didn't even like Halo 3, but I can make a fairly safe bet right now that Killzone 2 will not be as good as Halo 3. If anything, it might be a step back from even the most derivative of shooters given Guerilla's infamous track record.

Is anyone else really sick of the idea that COD4 is infinately better than Halo 3? Considering it borrows so much from it any way, you'd be hard presses to explain why it's so much better. I for one a at least reasonable enough to say that they're probably on equal footing; it's simply a matter of preference.

Seriously though people, stop this "Halo? ROFL cod4 is so much better!" because it just isn't.

You're a genetically altered soldier called a SPARTAN, and you're believed to be the last one alive. You're tasked with looking after an AI called Cortana who you develop a very close relationship with over the three games. You crash land on an ancient construct which the covenant, the religious zealots who you're at war with, are very interested in. As you explore the ancient ring, you learn that it was built by a race which inhabited the galaxy millions of years ago. They are now extinct due to a parasitic lifeform which spreads at alarming speed, which is imprisoned, dorment in the ring. The covenant think the ring is a relgious tool to be activated, but you learn that it's actually a super weapon designed to stop the spread of the flood. You must destroy it to stop them activating it.

Flash forward to game 2 and you've travelled back to earth where you are being honoured for your bravery on Halo. A tiny covenant fleet arrives right on the cusp of the planet, and a battle begins to destroy it. Everyone seems confused as to how they found earth, and why they sent so few. It turns out they were looking for something - not earth - and were as surprised as you are to have chanced upon it.

One ship lands on earth, at a specific location. It is soon surrounded however, so jumps through slipspace. You follow it and are lead to another halo ring; it turns out there are seven of them. You learn that the covenant prophets are preaching that these rings, when activated, will start the "great journey" - the covenant are determined to activate them and you have to stop them. Meanwhile, the elite admiral charged with activating the first ring is being branded as a heretic for his failure to stop you destroying it. He's sentenced to death, but it turns our the prophets have other plans for him...

I'll stop there. Nothing on the third game in there. Hopefully that clears up the very, very wrong assumption that halo has no story outside of the books. It obviously does.

To answer the question, who knows? Maybe Killzone 2 will surprise, I'm really hoping it turns out to be great, but I really enjoyed Halo 3, so Killzone 2 will need to be better than mediocre.

So now lemmings have resorted to comparing 360 games (current gen system) to the PS2 (last gen system). I take it you don't think to highly of Halo3 seeing you compared it to a PS2 game instead of a PS3 game.Bubblehash
