Super Smash bros has:

Online Co-op

Online multiplayer

Saved films (for both brawls and the target minigame)

A lenghthy single player campaign with both a plot and bosses

Achievement-like system of trophies and stickers

Along with minigames and third party cameos, all it needs now is a stage creator like Halo's Forge (maybe some chainsaws too) and it will be guaranteed AAA.

Low budget? It's the most hyped up game on the Wii. Nintendo has already invested millions into the franchise. It's on par with Galaxy and MP3.

If the cinemas are that good, it's sure thing to have a pretty good plot.

Nuff said.

Orchestra? What, for like two songs? Most is pretty synthesizer-esque, if you ask me.

Since when do fighters have a decent plot? Just how do you expect a game that has over a dozen playable characters to pull off an engaging and engrossing plot? Expect a lackluster journey with an enjoyable cinimatic as reward for beating the game with X character.

I agree. A great fighting game never necessarily needed a great plot since it isn't the focus.

I agree it won't have any plot and really I (and most of us) don't care because it's hyped for one thing: to provide fun.

Please, please, please do not call Halo 2/3's plot 'decent.' It has to have one of the most overblown, pointless and outright ridiculous plots I have ever experienced. Nicely put together cutscenes do not equal a good story! Loved the original Halo's plot, though.

Don't forget to include a disappointing ending that confirms everything the game does is mediocre.

Plot value is subjective -- I personally thought Halo had a good plot for a game, and a great plot for a shooter. If one were to compare Halo's plot to a game like Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy, the game falls flat on its face. For what it is: a plot built into an 8 hour FPS experience, it gets the job done.

With that said, a fighting game never needs any plot, but it would be nice to have at least one game pull it off, I just don't see SSB:B being that game. Every other aspect of the game should be superb, though.

To tell you the truth they are making an epic battle with these strange invaders. So far it seems like a great story thst finally connects the various Nintendo character's worlds.

Seriously?! To have so many of these individuals providing music for a single work may very well be an historic event in the history of video-game music!

It's almost unthinkable!

Of course, Smash will let you enjoy music from a wide variety of Nintendo games.

A number of individuals have put their touch on these arrangements.

Using the game music that has entertained so many as the base for new arrangements by so many famed musicians... Not too shabby, eh?

Here on Smash Bros. Dojo, we will share that music with you through occasional trial listening. Since this is my first post, I thought I would give you an arrangement of the song you probably heard most often in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Menu 1.

Motoi Sakuraba headed up that arrangement!

Its not corny like that. If you have been reading up on the story and watching the clips you can tell its more than a simple story. I know its not like halo but its interesting that they are giving it an epic feel that is way more than what we see with SC.

The game used to be pure multiplayer smashing heads. Now it is such a well rounded game that includes a what seems like a really fun story.

not only that but the visuals are great. the framrate is good and the character models are detailed. I know this game will be dismissed by GS and everyone who dislikes the Wii but based on the evidence at hand this is a really fun and now epic game.

Smash Bros. is probally the biggest collab of games, music, characters, themes, items, sound fx and art styles ever.
It's gonna be **** awesome, since it's gonna be way, way bigger then the original and Melee.

I'd love for the option to be there, and it'd be great if that was one of the reasons for the delay. If you don't like VOIP don't use it, but if I want to have a conversation with my friends over my Wii whilst playing teh Smash it'd be great.

Though, I don't know how vehicles would work in a fighting game...

I never knew SSBB has:

Forge

File Share

In-dept stats online

In-dept gametype editor

Big, vehicle driven mapsi

Screenshots

True skill matchmaking

Custom Games

Voice chat

Do I need to go on?

OregonTrailing

Haha. SSBB has all of those except forge, vehicles, and voice chat.

Though, I don't know how vehicles would work in a fighting game...

Doesn't Wario run around in his bike as a weapon? Roadkill is the best way for vehicles!

Now all they need is Master Chief as an unlockable character. That'd be hilarious

I never new SSBB was a FPS... Pikachu sniping Mario... Zelda throwing a grenade while Bowser shoots out a rocket launcher...

:)

I never said it was an FPS and the only thing that had to do with an fps was the big maps.

The only remotely impressive feature you listed is the saved films. Everything else is standard stuff.

SSBB will be a fun game, but in terms of online functionality, Halo 3 blows it away.

I don't think the map is as big as a FPS...

Man... I'm starting to imagine Pikachu with a Rambo bandana and a cigarette in his mouth. :)

Aiming his sniper riple at Mario then... Head Shot!

I did not know SSBB had saved films. Where did that come when was this announced? If it is true, then that game will rock my socks even more.

You're comparing a low budget fighting game to a first person shooter?

ko_threat

Wait a minute, SSBB is a low budget game? Thats news to me.

It's not high budget either. The online is half assed and it uses GC controls. What WILL be a high budget is the marketing because it will challenge Halo 3 commercially. Both are incredibly hyped and are easily going to sell millions(halo 3 has already done so)

The saved footage thing was just announced in the latest update, you can save up to three minutes.

Another thing to consider, here, online with Brawl is 100% free. If you want to play Halo 3 online, you have to pony up the Xbox LIVE fee of $40-50 for the year. Or about $5-7 a month.
