Its been a long time,but is anyone getting really excited about getting the PS4?

I remember when I first got my PS3 with the MGS4 bundle, and was pretty wowed by what I saw. Expensive yes, but ultimately down the line it was worth it. Im excited about the PS4. Excited for the new IPs while also continuing our favorite franchises like Gran Turismo. Its the next generation of Playstation and its right around the corner. Remember that excitement of getting a new system, plugging it in.....played GTA4 for the first time and was jaw dropped at the city and everything they included.

Yes, I'm definitely ready to move on. Not so much for the new hardware but rather the new IPs and games that the new console generation will bring that has me excited. 

I'm only interested in seeing what sony has ot show on the 20th and I'm not hyped for the PS4 or the 720 yet.

I'm definatly ready to move on barely ever touch my current consoles anymore mostly game on PC waiting for maybe 2-3 more titles on my consoles, can't wait till next gen.

Maybe for the exclusives? But my computer already runs games graphically and performance wise 5x better if not more.

I said I wouldn't get excited until seeing everything, but man did I lie.  I am hyped and can't wait!

• Microsoft is making a casual focused device, that you "can" play hardcore games on. Kinect, Netflix, all thee keep talking about is "media" and not about games
• Sony is making a console that will cater to the "hardcore" gamer, or just the players who demand the best in new IPs and sequal. The social media tools, MOVE integration, eye toy, its all been there, just as an add on for that type of consumer. Microsoft has just flipped core gamers with casuals and I woulndt even call them that. more like TV watchers

I'm more curious because I have pretty big backlog and games and I'm still buying games. So I'm in no hurry to get a PS4 now, but I'm sure I will be excited by the Fall.

Im extremely excited so is anyone else whos cared about games over the past few years.  How do I hear people are not ready to let go when these consoles have been out almost 7 years. 

Probably no one on this forum has waited longer than me to get a new console. The last console I got new was the Sega Dreamcast. Than I bought the Gamecube used. Pretty much was it for me until recently (VITA does not really count, but I bought that around launch).

Pretty much every gaming device I have owned has had some sales expectation vs reality stigma attatched to it. Weird, huh? :)

Not a whole lot yet since there isn't much info on the system.

All gamers worth their grain of salt should want Sony to show the Holy Grail, the Ark of the Covenant of video games.  I hope they will.

Unless they greatly surprise me. That said, it will be nice to see an end to all these rumors.

Imma wait for both to come out and lower in price. Whichever has the better library after a couple years will get my vote.

I've been a big supporter on this gen lasting another year or two because personally I don't see this new hardware adding anything current gens can't already handle, but with that said it's always exciting to see new console reveals.

After the PS3? What was it about PS3 that disappointed you? It has the biggest variety of highly rated exclusives on the console market today.

Same here bruh, I have at least another 10 to 15 games I gotta get through which don't even include what's coming out this year. Soooo many games so little time :(

I can't say I am.

The next system I buy will probably be the 3DS, and between the 3DS and PC I should be more than content.

I have a huge backlog of PS3 exclusives, which is fine because I usually wait for a price drop and the better hardware. But I am really stoked for the announce more than I can remember any system from this gen.

The library. A library is all that matters and the PS3 library was just let down after let down.

Also, the spreadsheet says that the Wii has more Highly rated AAE+ retail games and AE+ rated games (the PS3 has more AAE+ if you count dd games though). The PS3 is the most disappointing console I have ever bought. A few gems did not make up for the large ammount of whack-a-mole turds (Uncharted 1 is my least favorite game). In any case, discussing it much further would derail the thread.

Back on topic, what I am saying is that I expect the worst, but hope for the best. My low expectations mean I can't be disappointed either. :D
