Is Resistance series Good ?

I've heard alot of good about resistance 2; 30 vs 30 online mp, 8 player coop and much more. How's the online gunplay? Does it play like Killzone 2? If not then what does it play like? Objective based or run & gun? I'm eager to joinyugioh3ds

Yup R2 is a great game.Online is fun.Well for me when I play the game I run and gun most of the time.

I'm not really sure how to explain it, but Resistance feels more like Halo except with the ability to aim down the sights (but still giving you crosshairs and not using the iron sights) The guns don't have the recoil that KZ2 Guns do, and there are more lazer/plasma/alien weapons In R2 than in KZ2. KZ2 guns have more "human" qualities to them, I haven't played either in a while, but most KZ2 alien weapons are electricity based.

And have you played KZ2? the guns feel heavy in that game, and it is pretty difficult to aim down the sights. Resistance guns are much easier to aim, and don't have near as much recoil as they do in KZ. Depending on what you like, Heavy guns with recoil and difficult aiming (not sure if that's the word to use but it's definitely harder than most games to hit a target while aiming down the sights) or light guns with less recoil and easier aiming.

As far as online goes it's great, especially the Co-Op, but I'm not sure how many people are still playing today.

Single player is great though, just wish the campaign had Split-Screen like the first.

It is okay. I still haven't beaten the first one on my PS3. I need to, but just haven't had a calling to do it.

R2 was indeed a disappoitnment compared to R1. How GS gave it AAA I'll never know...

I think it's garbage. Killzone is much better.

does Resistence series hace many SP sequences where you go into enemy territory alone, or is it more of Call of Duty style no-one-fights-alone. I hate lonely SP FPS.funsohng

A bit of both, but R1 had more by yourself moments than R2 did.

I'll admit, I get spooked out by a lot of things.... but Dead Space to me wasn't scary at all...

Games couldn't scare me if they tried 8) although, I jump once in a while, but that is from surprise alone. Resistanec 2 is a twitch shooter similar to Halo, and is not horror. What scares you about it? the chimera? (aliens)

Yeah, i remember when i first played KZ2 and thinking it was just Gears of War in first person.

Resistance series always looked pretty good to me, definately mid-tier on the FPS scale (above COD). But it just seems like it shouldnt exist with Killzone around.

My opinion both Resistance series and Killzone series are great fun to play through SP campaign. I don't really play a lot of multiplay so I won't say one way or the other on that. Overall I really enjoyed them.

I liked Resistance 1...I thought the weapons were cool, and the AI was pretty good. Although it might have just been that I didn't have much else to play on my PS3 at launch. :P

I never finished Resistance 2...some of it was pretty cool (I like that one level where you're in the town and there's the crazy zombie things every where) but I got kinda bored towards the end. I'll probably go back and give it another shot at some point. Never really tried the co-op, though.

i bought resistance 2 and its was ok for a few hours until i realized i really hate FPS on consoles and just sold it. even with halo (although i did enjoy 1 and 2 for a few years), by the time i got halo 3, i really hated it. its too slow paced. i guess pc FPS's have spoiled me. i even bought killzone 2 and i felt the same. as a primarily pc gamer, i cant stand playing an FPS on console anymore. so to answer your question:

if you enjoy playing FPS's on console ya it's good

It doesn't play anything like KZ2, that's for sure. The gameplay is along the lines of Halo, so if you've played that you should get the idea: high damage model, little recoil for weapons, mix of alien and human weaponry.

It has extremely excellent online netcode, so lag is hardly ever an issue, even in 60 player games. Last time I was online, the ranked servers seemed very poorly populated, with the bulk of the community playing in player made servers, so ranking up may be quite difficult in R2.

Of course, R3 will most likely come out next year, so there's always the choice to just wait.
