Is anyone else unimpressed with Motorstorm 2, graphically?

It was just posted today. Anyways, I expected this game to boast much more impressive visuals. After playing Pure, honestly, I'm rather unimpressed with how this looks. The water effects and shadows, not to mention the lighting, all look better in the Pure demo I just played the other day. The water effects don't look nearly as good, plus the flickering shadows bother me. There's texture pop-in, too. Please no flaming, just share your thoughts. I'd like to know what others see that's so great looking in this game.

Coming from playing Pure, it doesn't look as good but the map that you linked us to is not one which shows off the graphics much. The water looks phenomenal in some of the other stages.

But I still think Pure will end up looking better graphically. The demo left me breathless when playing it on HD!

Well, it's not that graphically impressive.

But I think they're going the way of the first one where they're working out tinks in the gameplay before spending time really working on the graphics.

I've been following the game since the very beginning. It still looks the same, unless we're speaking about the '05 tech trailer, then it actually doesn't look as good currently.

i havnt been following this game all that much, i wouldnt say im unimpressed but i thought it would look a lot better than what was shown

If you don't see a difference in texture quality you are blind ;). This is E3 06-January 07 as GDC. A six month span.

But seriously people, common sense tells us that games can look better within months of release. It happened with Halo 3, Gears 1, and Metal Gear Solid 4. It could very well happen with Motorstorm 2 (like the game looks bad as it is...).

Of course not; this is system wars. Regardless, I think Motorstorm 2 is a damn fine looking game, but with that said, i definitely think Pure looks better. Plus, Pure is just so much fun to play, it's like SSX with ATVs.

Pure looks amazing and so does MS2. Everyone should watch the E308 trailer for MS2.

What has me interested in MS2's graphics are the environmental hazards/ variations, awesome crashes/physics, multiple view angles and there are multiple vehicles. We will see which one looks better once the are released.

maybe not the entirely best place for this....but kinda on topic. I just played the Pure demo...that game is pretty sweet. I will be picking that up for sure.

Edit: Holy hell what happened in here :? I look up and I see Killzone 2 pics in the thread. Talk about derailed.....

:lol: It was apart of my argument saying most games look better over time (in this case Motorstorm). Someone said KZ2 hasn't gotten any better over time. And I showed that it does.

Glad you liked it, too. I didn't put too much faith into the OXM review, because I thought to myself how good could a Disney game really be, then I played the demo, and I was blown away. I wasn't expecting much, but it's the most fun and one of the better looking racing games I've seen on consoles.
