Too much hassle. Too many drivers, patches, errors, incompatabilitys etc. Don't go saying people are dumb or poor for not PC gaming. I play Guild Wars and Civ 4, as well as older games like Diablo and Baldur's Gate on my PC occassionally but it's too frustrating to be my main gaming platform. Games are about having fun, and all that PC bull**** you gotta go thru isn't fun, k?locopatho

I said the BS isn't fun, the games are grand.

Since when patches are bad? lol
Anyway I don't go through any of those things you listed there, only thing I do is install.

Well console version aren't exaclty coming bug free, I'd rather have an ability to fix those than nothing. Anyway not all patches are about game errors. Some like the Orange box patch are about more content.

Console games get patches all the time, 360 game update anyone?Too much hassle. Too many drivers, patches, errors, incompatabilitys etc. Don't go saying people are dumb or poor for not PC gaming. My consoles crash more often than my PC. You should tick the 'I don't know how to use one' catagory. Oh and before anyone says i'm calling people stupid please think about it, i'm only saying you don't know how to use them correctly, maybe because you have no interest in them for example.

I also spend more time updating my PS3 than my PC...seriously it is a slow and annoying process on that console (MS got it right but their console just crashes instead :P).

Its a good thing that i dont experience that BS 8) (patches yes but no errors crashes or incompatibility). My pc is too stable for that. And im sure many "gaming pc's" dont have these problems either. My fav genres, characters, and franchises cannot be found on the PC. Nothing personal.
How can you possibly fight this argument?
1) My parents own 2 macs so there isn't really a place to put it, and can't simply upgrade (not that I know how to do that)
2) I'm not really sure if I could get it online considering point 1
3) I don't know a thing about building a gaming PC
4) Price
5) The fact that if I built a good one now it would be virtually useless in 2 years
6) This kind of goes with 5) but having to upgrade sucks

That's fantastic, but most people don't want to deal with all that, and it doesn't make then any less of a, "gamer" for thinking that way. Some of the more fanatical hermits out there need to get this through their heads.

Your inexpierence shows! If my pc is more powerful than a console, then my pc is the lifespan of a console's. You wouldn't need to upgrade because you will always be over consoles, upgrading is only required when some pc exclusive games like crysis come out that push the limits of hardware. If you want to upgrade for one game then by all means do so but it's not pratical :P

Are you saying though that there is nothing at all on PC you would like to play? If there is even one game then you kind of go into the 'can't afford it' catagory (maybe you can but you don't have ENOUGH money to buy expensive items that you won't use very much).

Seems like a catch-22 to me. TC includes a, "can't afford it" category and tries to herd everyone into it, but hermits typically try to use the most awkward, roundabout circle-jerk logic to say that PC gaming is no more expensive than console gaming.

Honestly? Not really. And thats not bashing PC games at all. Some games are multiplat like COD4 and Bioshock. Others really don't interest me at all. Especially the big genres like MMO's and RTS games.
The games and characters I like are on consoles cause I grew up as a console gamer. I did play a little sim city, world of warcraft on the PC cause my bro was really into them. But I always went back to Mario, Snake, Sonic, and the rest on consoles cause its what I like. Its really just that simple. And since I have all three consoles...something tells me I could afford a good gaming PC as well if I really wanted one.

Well its either too expensive or surprisingly affordable. They can't have it both ways.

It isn't really. HDTV is required to get the most outta a console so it comes around to the same amount as a pc. Also pc games are cheaper.
1 Dont like keyboard/mouse
2 patching

Thats a big one for me. I remember back when I was young trying desperately to find a controller for a SF II game I had on the PC.

It's expensive compared to console prices, but affordable compared to what a console gives you.
It's really the same argument that cows used to justify the PS3 and PSP for the past few years.
I would imagine my home PC qualifies as a "gaming rig" however I work with a computer for a good portion of the day and normally not in a rush to sit in front of one when I get home, unless there is a game I really want to play. cosmostein77
Me too. PC's = work and I work enough hours in the week as it is. Consoles deliver gaming experiences perfectly with no messing around and for busy people thats exactly what you need.

so because i'm a lemming that means i dont have a computer, right?

No. Because you're a lemming means you have no right to complain about another system's unreliability given the 360s....*ahem*...history.
And anyway, computer build quality varies depending on the vendor (if pre-built) or the builder (if custom-built).
