If GTA score less than 10 in pc will that confirm the different standards.

It's likely that GTA IV won't score a 10 on pc, yet it will have better graphics, superior framerate and the mod bonus. Will that confirm that PC scores are different. I mean a game like stalker or witcher would prob be AAA on the 360 or ps3.

Discuss.

The consolites will twist this somehow.

Just like Assassin's creed, 8.5 when it was clearly the best version.

What if BioShock for the Ps3 is better than the 360 version in almost every way, but doesn't score as high? Would you be willing to say that the Ps3 has higher standards?

Well, it's been said to have better graphics, better performance and better (expanded) multiplayer... so I think there's a chance it might still get a 10 tbh... Guess it depends on how 'expanded' the multiplayer is...

why not? Regarding Bioshock its the same game, with a few extra features... still has the same great story, lush visuals (maybe slightly better than the 360 version), same solid gameplay + some extra features... there would be nothing wrong if the score would be the same or slightly higher... am i right?

So same goes for GTAIV, i would assume that it shouldnt get less than a 10/10 because its the same game but with better visuals...

Time is an important factor.

Do you really think PDZ would score AAA if it went to PC now?

How long till a patch comes out? Sometimes it can take weeks.

That's the one thing I hate about pc gaming, everything has to get fixed in a patch after the game is already out.

It's been sometime since it's out, a lot of what made the game impressive a few months ago isn't such a big deal anymore. I think after the intial smoke cleared most people thought it wasn't all that...which doesn't bode well for PC standards or whatever this nonesense is.

It's already been pretty much confirmed. If/when the PC version doesn't get AAAA, it will just prove that the hype surrounding GTAIV has died down, and what's left behind is a pretty good game.

I don't think the gaming world will be very different when GTA IV is released in November. Crysis will still hold the graphic crown and the PC will still be alive. One thing is to expect halo 2 to have a lower score but gta IV, i don't think so. By the way I still think that halo 2 couldn't stand against pc shooters from the same year it was released on xbox.

The reason PC has higher standards in most genres is because it has a plethora of games which challenge newcomers to best their previous efforts.

Now tell me, what game in the PC library has challenged GTAIV to the king of the sandbox?

Crickets chirping much?

I think it's fact that GTAIV's high scores were beefed up from the hype. Of course now the hype is gone it will score lower.

No. The PC could get a lower score for being late and not adding enough to make up for it.

Exactly. They get marked lower for the exact same reason people call games over-rated when you've played them a few times. Reviewers only play through a game once. That's why I don't trust when a reviewer says it's awesome, because an awesome game IMO has to have replayability. Reviewers don't have to keep that game after they beat it, we do and if there is no reason to replay it then it'll get less favourable public opinions. Which is why when a game get's replayed by a reviewer on a different platform and they think "wow this is actually really repetitive, just never noticed that on my one previous playthrough" they get marked lower. Basically the flaws and bad aspects of a game are more aparent in that second go, than in the first playthrough where it's all new and fun.

The consolites this is such a funny word!!!

Well I think with how PC is touted as being ten times better than a console in my opinion it should be. I mean honestly if you can upgrade, have multiple customizing options in front of you to make the game that much better. I think it should be held to a higher standard and if it fails at doing so and it does not bring anything different from what supposedly a dumb down console can't do it should be scored lower.

I've seen numerous games score lower or the same on PC; despite the PC version being better.

Assassins Creed scored lower on PC despite coming with additional content over the console versions. They accused it of having high system requirements despite YouTube being filled with people playing it on 8600s around launch.

Devil May Cry 4 came with sharper graphics and more content; it was a highly polished game that ran on almost everything, yet it got the exact same score as the console versions.

I swear there is some sort of a standards issue on GameSpot with PC.

A-ha! so you can't do a direct comparison of quality across platforms and time, claiming "different" standards without extra information.

So, the answer to the topic is: No, it won't necessarily prove anything.
