I wouldn't say the Master Collection is dogshit, the games are still really good but they're just less good.
The Xbox One X is a great system and I hope you enjoy it. :)
It's pretty bad. I've been playing NGB and NG2 since release, got the Master collection the other day and it's astounding how much of a step back it is.
On the one hand, normal seems easier. On the otherhand, any difficulty I've faced is because the timing is off. It's not as balanced. It's like if SF3 Third Strike went back to the original SF3 state. Combat is somehow not as seemless against multiple enemies and they add stupid stuff, like those soldiers on motorcycles.
The ingame pause menu seems cluttered.
Graphically it's only a bit better than NGB running fully upscaled on the XSS.
To me this is more of a backward remake than a remaster.
I never felt like NGB was unfair, because it was so balanced it was about skill. In contrast because even the basic combat it in seems off, it's more of a problem for me. I don't know if it's frame issue. I'm not sure I like the back flip evasion, it slightly wastes time. In NGB, depending on your skill, you can use any weapon against any enemy. I don't feel like that's the case here.
So far I've found the twin swords over powered, you can become overwhelmed using the nunchuck and potency armlet against multiple enemies.
I like Rachels fighting style, she does look weird when running though, like a barbie doll hopping forwards.
I'd give NGB a 9/10. But honestly, I'd only give NGS a 6.5 or 7/10.
It just feels like the game is a badly edited mish mash of of parts instead of a seemless experience.
As for the Master Collection, it's just ports, it's over priced. No current gen enhancements on any level, even to the way loading might behave.
I'd highly recommend anyone with an Xbox, stick with NGB and NG2. Only get this if you're curious about the other version. Even then, don't get your hopes up.
Also noticed that it doesn't support quick resume. :-S
