79.99 for this? Damn I just ordered this off Amazon last night think I was getting deal. I think it was 69.99 though so still not bad....
Basically getting this to stream my PS4 games to the bedroom.... a feature they probably should have advertised in this spot. If you arent a hardcore gamer, you probably dont even know what PSTV is. Sony really needs to get Netflix on this thing ASAP and make it more of a ROKU competitor too.
PSTV has a way to go... but I think of it as an add on more than a stand alone.
Meh, the commercial isn't too great, but at least it's letting people know the product is out. $80 is pretty good... well, good considering Sony might of asked for more. Frankly I thought this should have been something tacked on as a PS3/PS4 feature for free. Still, I'll consider it more than I'm considering a Vita, after all I can play Persona 4: The Golden, getting the PS TV and that would only be $100, half the price of a Vita. Still, I'd have to now start considering what else it has that I'd want to play. Maybe a few more must have games and I'd be down.
Does it play PSP games? If so I'd like to get some games like the Patapon games for it. I'd also go back to play SMT: Persona, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, and maybe Persona 3 Portable. And also go back and play the Valkyria Chronicles II & III. Yeah, if it has the PSP catalog on its online shop I'd definitely be down to pick one up now.
Unfortunately, I see it still uses the proprietary memory card. What's the memory on this thing that comes with it?
EDIT:
Found a list of all games it supports, looks like there's some choice titles there...

...and it does have what I want, some of it anyways. They don't have Valkyria Chronicles II & III, nor do they have Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. Though, they have Persona 4: The Golden in the supported Vita game section, and in the PSP supported section they have the three Patapon games, SMT: Persona, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, and Persona 3 Portable. That's reason enough for me to want this still, though it would have been nice to play the Valkyria Chronicles sequels that released on the PSP.
So a little more research into this and the $80 version only comes with 1GB internal memory, that's such bullshit. However, the $100 bundle that comes with a Dual Shock 3 and an 8GB PROPRIETARY memory card is at least better. Still, WTF Sony. Man, I was so hoping they'd of offered something like USB thumb-drive support, external HDD support, SDHC support, or at least a more substantial internal HDD, but no. That's really fucked up. The expensive proprietary memory cards was one of the big turn-offs of me with the Vita, looks like it's here on the PlayStation TV.
SMH. That was awful. I might give up gaming as a whole with the "I hate you" feeling it left me with.
