So many cutscenes and there’s even credits in the beginning, just like a movie. I’m tired of Xbox copying PlayStation with these movie games.

I'm seeing a lot of positive reviews on Steam for Hi Fi Rush and only $30 too. Not to shabby from the looks of it. Sadly I'm tied up with Forspoken & Dead Space Remake coming out this Friday so I'll just add this to my wishlist for later on. Thanks Pedro👍👌

Gamepass delivers again. Was so tired after getting caught in the monsoon heading home last night that I went straight to bed. 12 hour days are murder!!

Very weird that the makers of The Evil Within made this game. They couldnt be further from one another but its always cool when devs try something different from what they're used to

Looks cool. Just added to my wishlist.

On a side note: and i kinda know why devs don't do it, but i would love to see a game where they stop having perfectly interpellated frames in gameplay....especially in games with an animated/cartoon style. I.e. the game should move like how the cutscenes move (the animations look around 24FPS).

But one for when i get more off my backlog. Looks fun.

SW shit aside, think you'll really like this game.

Starts out deceptively simple, but amps up into a full blown action game.

That's just a clip of dude messing around in the training room on the most basic fodder enemy. Doesn't even have all the assists and abilities unlocked, more like a mid-game kit.

I got pretty hooked yesterday, think I made it to the last boss. Definitely plan to beat the game this evening, see what the replay options look like. Lots of clearly defined areas you can't enter on a first run and need your assists for.

Some games do this, Arc Systems Works is great at it. Obviously the games still run at 60fps, but they'll hold/duplicate animation frames to get the anime look. They've been doing it for a while, but DBFZ and Strive are probably their best examples.

Smart of them to shadow drop this game, much like Respwn said about doing it for Apex Legends, it's easier just to release a game nobody was expecting and let people make up their own minds than to let everyone spends months to tear it down before release.

Love it when a game gets announced and drops on the same day. With digital delivery they should do more of this.

Watched Maximilian play some of this on his Twitch stream and the game looks great and a whole lot of fun. Do want to play this myself.

I'm actually glad Xbox has finally got it's first quality game they can be proud of not named Halo/Gears/Forza this generation.

It's a bit little ironic it took a Japanese developer to deliver this level of quality to the xbox platform considering how much negativity and hate has been spread by xbox fans about Japanese devs over the years while attempting to hate on Sony and Sony titles. Not speaking of @Archangel337 of course.

This isn't a knock on the game but, there's about 0% chance this actually ends up a GOTY contender when it's all said and done. It just happens to be one of the first very good games of the year.

Yeah and the problem is, any January hits don't tend to get any nominations for GOTY and I remember Dying Light 2 released last January and it was forgotten by most game awards despite it was a pretty good game. Doubt Hi Fi Rush will be remember at the end of this year.

If completely average games like Stray and HFW were able to be a GOTY contenders, so can this.

So, game was blocked from PS platform through Bethesda acquisition 2 years ago.

HFW was one of the best reviewed games of 2022.

Either way, 2023 is beyond stacked with AAA games; this game isn't even going to make the top 10.

I love that they are like "surprisingly funny" ... because we all know that gaming writing is abysmal so whenever something good comes out, it takes everyone by surprise.

Doubt it was even in the top ten of best reviewed games of 2022, Stray certainly wasn't. Seen several supposedly stacked years end with plenty of games that didn't live up to expectations or get delayed into the next year.

HFW was a downgrade from HZD. Reviewers were being hoodwinked by graphics.

The game is nothing special and got ran over by Elden Ring. Regardless, HI FI Rush is great and will be being mentioned as a GOTY contender at the end of the year IMO. If you feel different that's your prerogative.

I don't care about MC or User score. I played the game and made my own evaluation. It is a downgrade from the previous game.

2023 is the year both Xbox Series and PS5 get a decent amount of current gen only titles, if you don't have either system you're going to be missing out big time.

Well, it's on PC if you have one, don't think the requirements for this game will be very demanding at all.

I played first hour. was pretty cool! maybe only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was lack of run button lol.

That is annoying at times. Best you can do is triple dash on beat, which still isn't that mobile. Bayo has panther within, Dante has trickster, Ryu can roll jump. This guy just slow jogs lol.

Man, I've hit my first spot of major disappointment. Don't know if it's just bugged or what. Trying to replay missions on the highest difficult "Rhythm Master". Was smooth sailing until the boss fight against Rekka, I just keep randomly being one shot by nothing. Just moving along, then die. It's not even consistent. Even happens when she's stunned.

Sucks extra hard because I can't find any info to see if it's just me. Checked the discord, tried looking up vids, nothing out there yet. Legit tried like 50 times, kept thinking I must be missing something.

Gonna step back down to very hard and see if it still happens.
